BASHES - Can of Worms?

I'm probably opening up a can of worms here but here goes:
to the people that chat in the rooms .. have you ever thought about the people that are either to far away or simply cannot afford to go to these "Bashes"
It makes chat boring for those of us that can't get to or afford to go .. some days it's all you ever hear .. i do realise that you are excited to be meeting others and having fun at these bashes but it makes life unpleasant for others .. i am home alot as i have been ill and do only work part-time so i come into chat quite alot to relieve my boredom and to escape my own worries and problems here but somedays it is just unbearable when every other word is "bash" Am not trying to spoil anybodys fun .. just saying how it is .. am sure others feel the same but don't have the guts to say so .. all I am asking is please be considerate for US that can't be there ...

I doubt very much you would spoil anyones fun. That is not who these people are. They are a GREAT bunch. I know because I have met many of them in person. I did have a chance to go to a Nashville Bash when I lived in Georgia. I have also attended many local luncheons and get togethers. It would not have been affordable for me to attend one that was a good distance.

Here is a story for you.
Lady goes to the doctor for a pain she is having. She tells the doctor, "It hurts when I do this". Doctor says, "So don't do it."

If it bothers you that much don't go into the chat room. Read a book or go see a movie or rent a movie. Sounds like you are very envious.

Added note: If you really pay attention to what a person blogs about you can quickly see what type of person they are and what they value in life. I value the friends I've made here.

Sorry Sea!!!! ((((Hugssss))))

I just love to hear about the bashes!!! Even before I got to attend one, I enjoyed hearing about the goings on. It was like the stuff of movie magazines to me....LOL.

I started setting a wee bit aside each month and finally got to attend one about 8 hours away from me in Wisconsin a couple of years ago. Since then I've been to 3 more... two in Seattle, and Nashville last year.

Actually meeting chat and blog friends face to face is awesome!!!

Here's a different twist. I could travel anywhere to attend a bash but never do. Why? I just don't do well in large groups. I have met many from here on a one on basis and the smaller groups sound appealing but large groups of people I don't know that well sounds too much like the conferences and conventions I attended when I had a day job. Just another view point. Hope you find some fun you can take advantage off.

Sorry you are so bothered by the talk but just like every one here isn't meant to match with everyone else, every blog, every topic & every conversation isn't for every one either I suppose. Seems if several are talking about it...then it is their conversation...just like those who talk about sports or "the trial" or grandchildren or cars or vacations or any other topic. When I go into chat I talk to whoever talks about what I want to talk about or I join an ongoing conversation or start one or come back later. I wouldn't expect others to change their discussions to suit me.

Sorry Sea I love seeing you in chat however I have to agree with michianaredhead. Sometimes the chat going on between a few doesn't interest me either but that is their conversation and the conversations change from one thing to the next so I just go with the flow, join in when I feel like it and quite often miss a lot of the conversations when there are so many folk chatting about different topics. To be honest with you the Aussie do has become so big because we were able to spread it around from one to another via chat and if someone wants to know more details they usually bring it up in chat as don't have direct email contact. Isn't the purpose of chat in a senior friend finder site so that we can converse with others and meet friends? I am sorry you are not able to come to the meeting perhaps another time you will. Please enjoy chat for what it is and if you get bored with the conversation start up your own topic.

Cheers

I love hearing about the bashes. It helps to reinforce the opinion I formed long ago that I wouldn't enjoy attending one.

Besides, there is often some good gossip coming out of those discussions. and I love gossip!
