I hope all those girls I knew in Junior High and High School don't drag me in front of a judge for the mutual fun we had back in the early 60's. I'll never make it to the Supreme Court but, then again, neither would they !

Isn't it bit nonsensical to hold someone to the standards of today for actions in a bygone era? And, especially when they were teens?

Mrs. Joe "Isn't it bit nonsensical to hold someone to the standards of today for actions in a bygone era? And, especially when they were teens?"

deborahsu2 " And she can't remember the how, when, where, why.....but knows that it happened when she was a teenager but forgot to mention it until now. Wonder what caused the memory at this time..../"

Soooo ladies...she's lying because she didn't come forward at the time? Why didn't you both just accuse her of being a tease etc... that she was really asking to be abused? Think back ladies ... you are a stupid teenager and you are in the wrong place at the wrong time and you are saying that you'd have just laid down and taken what the boys say you were asking for.

Since when has there been a difference in 'standards' for actions... ra*e is okay if it's in the 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's, 80's and 90's but not okay now? Gimme a break!

She has spoken of it ... to a counsellor years ago... and she's coming forward now because of a situation that wasn't present 30 years ago.

A lifetime appointment to your Supreme Court is definitely the time to come out of the closet. She needs to help protect all the young women who find themselves in the same position today but are still supposed to keep their mouths shut.

She has taken a lie detector test... she passed. He was so drunk he can't remember ... he can't in all honesty that he did not do it!

There's a thing called 'defamation of character'. Did you know it's illegal?

If what's her name is a prop set up by democrats why not investigate her? Why not make an example of her. That's what I would call fairness and justice.

Kavanaugh, McConnell, Grassley, Trump … what cha skeeered of. Nail her ..

I read the New Yorker article on this matter.
He is the product of a Jesuit high school education just like me.
Explains it all.

You get separated from the fair sex during your teen years you tend to get a bit horny when in the presence of ladies.

Who says he was so drunk he can't remember? Aren't you applying "facts" that are not in evidence? I never said she was a tease or that she was asking for it.
No, r##e is not ok, at any age, but she was not r##ed. Back in those days, and I wonder if it is still that way today, teenage boys made passes, even aggressive passes at girls. But today with all this "me too" stuff, we are supposed to judge a grown man for actions he may have done as a teenage boy? IF he did do it.
I don't understand why everyone is jumping to conclusions when we have not even heard her testimony or seen the letter she wrote. She has become a political football for the Democratic party and the whole world seems to be divided on an issue that we have not heard any real facts about.

You are comparing two totally different things.
One.... she says that she and he were both teenagers at a party and he made a very aggressive pass, but she was not r##ed.

Two, my abuser was an adult, I was a child, the r##e continued for years, and there were dire emotional and physical threats which he was well able to carry out. I was scared for myself and my mother.

Three, yes, of course it was a bygone era and I forgave him a long time ago. But I still mention it to encourage others that it is possible to get past those horrible events and lead a happy life with good relationships.

Maisie, I think you're a little hung up on media. Media has nothing to do with court litigation.
