The sun is out, the sky is blue. Sharp frost overnight and the snow is now icy on top with a satisfying crunchy feel as you break through the crust. Ever since I was very young I have always loved 'first footing' in fresh snow and the open parkland across the street is an excellent place for a walk this morning. The sun is shining brightly from a beautiful blue sky and that brightens up the views in all directions. The snow is sparkling white in the sunlight and the trees look like they have been decorated for Christmas (albeit a bit late). |

I MUCH PREFER LOOKING AT THE SNOW IN THE MOUNTAINS FROM THE TOP OF MY STREET. NO SHOVELING, NO SLIPPING AND SLIDING.

I do agree about the crunchy sound that snow makes when there's a bit of ice on it. Making tracks in new fallen snow used to be fun when I was a child. We used to make a large pie circle with wedges tramped in and play 'pie tag'..... Great FUN!!

I envy your ability to still get out and walk in and on the snow. My instability makes it a dangerous undertaking for me, but I used to enjoy it just as you described. Today has been strange, it is not very cold, around 35F, and the sun is shining most of the time, but we are having snow showers with occasional sleet and hail. Sometimes it is almost blizzardly with low visibility, and other times just big old flakes floating around. Lovely to watch, and it's melting when it hits the ground. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Beautiful bright sunny pictures. I love walking in the snow, something magical about leaving your footprints behind.
