Another facet is that the US was an undamaged industrialized country when WWII ended. European nations had lost much of their power due to the war and increasing unrest in their colonies.

The mass exodus of manufacturing jobs that escalated in the Reagan years was the result of evolution in state of the art ports, shipping machinery/technology, operations and failure of the US Government to tax imports. History shows organized labor being the only group actively interested in making America great again. Neither Party gave a rats rear end that Globalists fired US labor in favor of low wage nations or that Globalists benefit from the umbrella of US Tax Code and the US Military. Trump lied about it to get elected. Then Trump signed a massive tax cut for globalists that got absolutely nothing in the "deal" for jobs in the US, job training in the US, jobs returning to the US ... all the stuff he lied about.

Who are the globalists .. you're kidding right? Check out the Trump Brand for starters. In the Reagan years Globalists were called Multi-National Corporations. They purchase building materials in one country, do their manufacturing in low wage countries, bring their products in to the USA for sales without tariffs. When you factor in benefits from US tax code and protection from the US Military it's a sweet deal. It happened WHEN it did because state of the art shipping, CHEAP shipping costs made the world a smaller place. That's the story. Do you really need Richard Benson breaking down what cheap labor is ... it's cheap! Their standard of living goes up ours goes down. That's globalism Karl Marx...  You voted for a Nationalist, or in my opinion a guy pretending to be a Nationalist. But all you're interested in is Pub good Dem bad. Ok, going back to Reagan years what administration did anything at all to keep jobs in the USA? None. Reagan failed when tariffs were needed. Clinton ran on NAFTA and got elected. Bush ran on not being Clinton and got elected. Obama ran on Healthcare and got elected. Trump straight up lied about jobs returning from overseas and got elected. Trump made his "deal". There's nothing in in it about jobs.

Of course it's not just greed ....it's a combination of things.. The old saying.." you got to make hay, when the sun is shining"....Has taken on a new meaning.. and becomes more about the sun, than about the hay.... We have lost our certainty that the sun is going to shine....so you grab all you can, while you can. ...With that mindset ..the only way you can try to make the worst days to come better... is to have TODAY make up for it, and try to make today... make the worst of tomorrow better. The train to the future is leaving....It doesn't matter what you have to say or how you have to say it, doesn't matter what you do, it doesn't matter who gets left behind.....Just as long as you get on that train, and NOT be the one left behind.. if you choose to see Trump as the conductor of that train, don't be fooled to think he's your ticket.....to "Back to the Future"... it's an imaginary train..and he's pulling it over on YOU. Trump's not the answer..Trump's not the ticket...He's the cause ...you think you need one. He's the cause that justifies those dark hidden places in Us All A Constitutional Crisis..WTF? is that... what problem does that solve?.. compared to the Crisis of HOPE, the Crisis of Humanity, The Crisis of confidence, The Crisis of the unknown....The Crisis of truth and reasoning...and the Crisis, in and of, one's soul......

MY idea, of course, is that if there is a devil.. Trump is it.....All the things a devil would stand for, Trumps stands for.........And the more folks believe in him... The more I HATE HIM for getting away with it.......But , I'll never HATE the folks that believe in him...
