Racism is denied?

Lately I've seen blogs about racism in SFF, but one stands out to me today. One blogger implies that someone in SFF denies there is racism in the USA.

Who would that be? I've just never seen anyone make such a claim in SFF, or anywhere else for that matter.

I think everyone, conservative and liberal agree that racism exists in the USA.

I think what may differ is which types of racism occur, and just who and how the racists are.

Racism still exists on all sides of the white/black/Hispanic/etc. populations. What is unclear, is where the problem is most prevalent and by whom, and most importantly, when is it really racism and not just disagreement.

GBU all,

Gavin

My observation is that racism is alive and well in America and perhaps in the entire world. Just who is the "racist" depends on your perspective but I think all groups are guilty to some extent even if it is not obvious. A social climate that feeds off of making a big deal of race fuels the fire.

Hi Gav: It seems like racism in the U.S. has gotten a lot worse and is more out in the open now ever since President Obama took office. Not only racism, but opposition to gay people in general, and since 9/11 religious intolerance. Now people are so upset over the perceived nationality of the person singing at a sports event. What a sad state of affairs.
