Compliments to Lulu Hi lulu, I just wanted to tell you that I've enjoyed many of the pics you've posted recently. I know we've had differences in the past, but please know that I'm not being sarcastic when I pay you an honest compliment. GBU, (no sarcasm here either) Gavin |

so sad any one deems a blessing as any thing other than wishing the person happiness an well being. we christians make no excuses nor apoligize for our beliefs. seems to me some thing as simple as saying GOD BLESS YOU, makes any one angry or up set. a nerve was touched. this once again is another double standard. non believers seem to think its ok to trash our LORD or make fun of our beliefs ,. yet be come angry or offened by a simple GBU Sam, it's mostly folks with whom I've had differences in the past, and are still angry. I'm done trying to convince anyone that I'm not harboring any grudges, and it's extremely rare when I might use GBU with sarcasm. Folks cling to what they want to believe, and others move on. I guess it's a personal choice one makes. Thanks for your comment and GBU, Gavin

Are you really that naive that you think that using Christian words, phrases and acronyms makes someone a nice person? Really?.......Well, Gavin is counting on it. GBU, Gavin

Hi Gav: The origin of the expression "God Bless You" is interesting. The custom originally began as an actual blessing. Gregory I became Pope in AD 590 as an outbreak of the bubonic plague was reaching Rome. In hopes of fighting off the disease, he ordered unending prayer and parades of chanters through the streets. At the time, sneezing was thought to be an early symptom of the plague. The blessing ("God bless you!") became a common effort to halt the disease.

GBU Gavin. It's a term we use here in Ireland a lot. Take care.

Its like what Maudie said Gavin and I believed you when you first said it. GBU is a blessing we pass to each other in Ireland. I hope some time he blesses you so that the next time you say it, it will be sincere.

I hope some time he blesses you so that the next time you say it, it will be sincere. Had you read MY side of the story, you'd know that I'm ALWAYS sincere when I say or type it. And for clarification I said I don't try to tell God how to bless anyone, only that He do so. Further, NONE of us knows if or how God may choose to bless us, and very often it's NOT in the ways we might have hoped for. GBU, Gavin

GBU Gavin. It's a term we use here in Ireland a lot. Take care. I got into the habit over a decade ago when I hung out in a Christian chatroom. Now its become second nature. (A few times I've even accidentally done it out of habit in business correspondences! LOL! ) It has never been an issue anywhere else but in SFF tho, when some folks learned I was a Christian. When they decided they didn't like me for whatever reason, they started complaining about it and demanding I stop. I refuse to change what has become intrinsic to my personality for them tho. Anyone is also free to interpret it as "Good Bye to U" if they prefer. Thanks and GBU, Gavin
