People who need people?? Why do people join a chat site/room? Did u ask yourself this question, too? I stumbled upon SFF, thinking, this has to be a great place to meet and talk with people my own age, right? After all, we are older and wiser about life, in essence "paid our dues." We are now in that calm, nice place in life where we can look back and realize we did the best we could, we are more accepting of others as we grow closer to facing our own mortality. Could I be wrong in hoping to find what I seek here on SFF?? I've decided to be patient, after all patience is a gift that comes with age.

Hi Stella: Welcome to the blogs.  I've been here for years hoping to find a half-decent guy to take me out for a coffee, but so far haven't met anyone. Once I did a search to see what the men were seeing when they searched for women members in my area. Yikes, there were about fifty pages of attractive available women right around my age living right near me.

Like others I saw SFF on something else and being curious, I joined around March of 2005 and started with Chat. I kept seeing Blogs at the top of the page and wondered what it was. I finally went into it. About a year later I commented to a comment Hawkslayer had written. He commented back, etc. We exchanged e-mails on SFF for a few times, then was able to exchange personal phone numbers. About a half hour later he called me. We talked on the phone, e-mailed, used a web cam to see each other as we talked. 6 weeks later he asked if he could come to Indiana to meet to see if what we thought was happening was...I now live in Middle Georgia with him. A great move! We also have met over 150 people in person at Bashes and get togethers. It seems like only the nice ones go, the "uglies" stay away. It is fun to meet in person those you have only chatted or blogged with. Be careful and enjoy SFF. Ann

Been here teice. The first time I was intent on finding someone so went away once that happened (took about 8 months and lots of frogs). That lasted 3 years. I came back for friends, men and women this time. Found lots of both as well as some interesting dates and relationships. I met many people in person which is wonderful. Of curse there are those I would sooner not have met but that is the same in the flesh and blood world. As others said, just be patient. True friends are not made instantly and lasting relationships take time to develop. Spiritwoman ^i^

I joined for friendship and hey never know what nature holds for you right? You seem strong and confident and that is always a highly wanted trait in a woman so I am sure you will do quite well making friends and maybe more depending what you want to get out of the site. I hope we can chat and become good friends!
