The epicenter of the earthquake was very near to Imphal. The capital of the Indian State of Manipur, our next door neighbor! Lisa, the jolt was very severe! You could not even imagine what would be the state of your mind, when you see in your own two eyes, the violent shaking of the walls of your high rise or a single storied building. After a long time I have experienced such a strong tremor shaking the whole country!
We thank God for His kind blessings that have saved us from a disaster of great magnitude!
Thank you so much dear Lisa.MLD for expressing your deepest sympathy to us which we appreciate very much!
Wishing you best of everything. God bless you and your family.
look.

Hello pansy.
Thanks for stopping by my blog/ The jolts were really severe. We are all okay by the grace of God. The house seems to be intact outwardly! We may have to get the house checked up by a structural Engineer soon. Thanks once again for expressing concern. Wish you a happy and prosperous New Year 2016.

That was a pretty significant quake. I imagine there is a lot of damage to the older, less sturdy buildings in the area. Hope you and yours are doing well. We live with earthquakes here but they are not something you ever get used to.

Mrs.Joe,
I became really terrified early to day morning when the tremors struck the entire country though I have experienced many tremors in the past too. My house is a double storied concrete cum Brick Building. I live here alone now most of the time. So you can understand why I became terrified. The security Guard who has a room on the ground floor was perhaps sleeping though he was not supposed to do that!
Anyway, I thank God for His mercy and also for saving us. As our part of the world is prone to such tremors, we have learned to live with such catastrophe since long time. Thank you for showing concern Mrs. Joe. Stay well and careful. Have a wonderful new year.

You are absolutely correct spiritwoman. As regards damages to properties located at older part of the city, you may be correct., May be, by tomorrow, we shall be in a position to know details of damages. I know you live with earthquakes and the dangers that are associated with it. We are doing well. Thanks for your kind concern for us, Take care, spiritwoman.Have a wonderful New year2016.

LookLook Vancouver experienced an earthquake on December 29th. It was sort of scary as you aren't expecting that to happen. It was about 11:40 P.M. when it happened and at first I thought something fell and then all of a sudden the sofa started to move. It felt like there was a person at each end trying to move it. I realized when that happened we were having an earthquake. It occurred over on Vancouver Island which is across the pond and it was 4.9 on the richter scale.

Shartaun,Hello
Thanks for stopping by and sharing the news that Vancouver experienced an earthquake on December 29 of last year. It is really scary to go through such experience irrespective of place of its occurrence--be it on Dhaka or on Vancouver and irrespective of its strength measured on the Richter scale. It is imperative for us to know what to do during an earthquake. However, some times we may get confused about it if its strength is either low or very strong! That is why, I am of opinion that we must take cover when the earth moves!
Have a nice New Year, Shartaun.
