Monsoon Blues and Dhaka colors!

Life in a rain soaked mega city.

Perhaps many people do not like monsoon. Because, during monsoon season they suffer from some kind of mood disorder that is known as monsoon blues! The symptoms are almost common to those who dislikes rainy season! Some may feel gloomy and others may feel lazy when it rains for a longtime! But I am different. There are many like me who eagerly wait for welcoming monsoon! Reasons for doing so may vary from person to person. If anyone asks me why I like monsoon, my answer will be that monsoon rain sweeps clean everything that I consider dirty! Yet I have captioned this blog as Monsoon Blues and Dhaka colors! May be, because I am now suffering from a Seasonal Affective Disorder due to sudden disappearance of the Monsoon Season!!

Here below Ten Pictures of Rain Soaked City of Dhaka are posted for those who like to view them. These photos were not taken by me therefore all credit goes to the photographers who have taken them after or during a rainfall! Photo credits: Arnob Antor, Shadman Ali, Md Sohanul Hoque, Shiekh Shahriar Ahmed and Hasnat islam Rizon.

I used to run in the rain when I was a kid!

What a great shot of the guy with outstretched legs crossing the huge puddle, also the little girl outside in the rain looking in at the dry little boy.

All are wonderful pictures!

Interesting.
I like a gentle misty rain, but I do not like to get soaked, so I do not think I would like your monsoon season.
Sometimes here, people get the SAD during the winter months, when we have shorter times of sunshine. I wonder how those folks nearer to the poles manage with their weeks of darkness?

Great pictures and another good blog, LookLook. I endured monsoons for almost three years a long time ago. The thing I hate the most was not the rain or being soaked to the bone all the time. It was the fact that I couldn't see very far when the downpours occurred. It was a favorite time for our enemies to sneak up on us.

Thank you so much for appreciating the blog and the accompanied photos. I can understand the reason that played the fear factor in you when it rained during those three years, presumably away from your home, in a country where one was accustomed to move easily in such downpours to attack the opposite one! Maybe, I simply guessed this but I know how one feels when living in a war zone! Thanks again for stopping by, Fossil. It is always a pleasure reading you. Enjoy the weekend.

Abelle, delighted to read from you here again and thank you so much for your response. In my country, if you live in a city where I live, and if you are to go out in a rainy day for running some unavoidable errand, you may have to do what the guy is seen doing in the photo that you mentioned! The scene depicted in the other photo you mentioned is really unusual as the parents would never allow kids to come out and talk to friends standing in the rain like the little girl is seen doing!
Have a nice Sunday, Stay well and happy!

Pleased to read from you again Mrs. Joe. We like here winter months to linger much more time. We are now passing through early winter! I can understand why people feel SAD during winter at your end. May be, it restricts people from doing outdoor activities! I may be wrong! Those people who live near poles can manage with their weeks of darkness as they become habituated to endure such darkness since birth. Have a nice Sunday.[/SIZE]

Mary Ann, Thank you so much to read from you again. We shall not be unable to live in this country of mine without rain. It is a life line for our survival... Hope you are having a nice winter now. Wish you all the best. Take care.
