Bonsai Ficus Trees.

Just look at the appended picture depicting a row of eye catching Bonsai Ficus Trees planted along the highway leading to the International Airport intersection in the city of Dhaka where I live. We all know that the word ‘Bonsai’ denotes “a tree that is planted in a shallow container”. If we however carefully look at the appended picture, we will observe that these Bonsai trees are not planted in shallow containers! 500 of such Bonsai Trees, imported from China and Taiwan , will be planted for beautification of the highway up to the Airport intersection by the end of July of the current year.

It is needless to repeat that “Bonsai challenges our gardening skills, artistic aesthetics and design capabilities.”

Hello traveler,
You seem to be correct in this respect. However, as I do not know much about different kind of Bonsai trees, I would suggest you to go to net and find out details about this fantastic tree! The trees shown in the picture appear to be quite old. Thank you, Traveler, for stopping by and for your comments.

Very interesting trees!

Maybe they look better in real life??

Frankly, I think that's rather a huge expense. There must be some local trees or plants which would be beautiful along this roadway.

Fascinating trees! To move such large old trees will be quite expensive and tedious, with no promise of success.......... but I can see the benefits also. To just plant young trees and train them would take many, many years to obtain such lovely specimens.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Hello Rocketship,
You are absolutely correct about the huge cost involved planting these trees.
However, it is also true that “A thing of beauty is a joy forever."
I am delighted to read from you here once again. Please stay well and cheerful always.

Thank you so much for your meaningful comments, Mrs. Joe. I appreciate. Our government is spending a huge sum of money to beautify an important city street. to attract visitors! Many of us like the idea!

It may look strange but I have been told that Ficus Tree is a great indoor Plant but a beast when planted outdoors. The plants that are lined up along the highway as seen in the picture are Bonsai Ficus Trees though may look strange to many if they see it for the first time!
Thanks for showing interest on the blog, ET. Stay well and happy.

MBN, if I'm the least, hope not the last, to post my comments on this blog of yours, please excuse me. Knowing my situation and my state of mind. As gradually am getting bit better and hoping time will soothe my sorrow. Good blog as above, I had never seen those trees before unless the similar but miniatures. I guess they took a lengthy time to grow as such. Nice to have such amazing plants. Thanks for sharing them. With my best regards. Lisa.

MLD,
Thank you so much for your above post telling me why it was not possible for you to read and leave your views on the blog well in time! Though I missed reading many of your similar meaningful and informative comments on some of my blogs, I knew the reasons for your inability to pass by my blog pages during the period that you have referred to at above. Thank you so much for keeping me informed of everything that I needed to know during this particular tormenting period yet it was you who had faced the situation with courage and fortitude. I am glad to learn that you are getting better gradually- bit by bit! We all know that time is a great healer. However, the loving memory of your beloved hubby will always be with you until you two could find yourselves reunited again.
My kindest regards to you, Lisa! God bless you and Emily.
