The Sound of Flute

As my day comes to an end,
And the evening approaches stealthily,
I ponder
With whom I should leave you, my beloved
As my day comes to an end?

I could still hear the familiar tune
Poignant with pain of parting
That was played so many times
On the joyous days of spring
And on the rainy monsoon nights,

As my day comes to an end
Everything that I shared with you
Would disappear
Just like those stars of night sky
And like those Coral Jasmine of autumn
Lying on the ground in each morning untouched!


D, the sound of the flute would no more be heard when my day will finally end. You would not even know how and when the day ended as you would be busy then to tell someone as you did many times before about a foolish person who had believed in unconditional love! Perhaps I don’t need to leave you with anyone as you have already chosen one to amuse yourself again!

Ahhh, the music of the flute can be so haunting.
As for our day coming to an end, we never know what tomorrow brings..... that is why we must live each day to the best of our ability.


Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

MrsJoe.......True, the sound of the flute could be sometimes frighteningly haunting, sometimes its music could force a women to run out of her home to look for the flute player! Perhaps you know the role that Krishna’s flute played to develop the immortal relationship between Radha and Krishna of epic Mahabharata. The relationship is the embodiment of love, passion and devotion. Take care and stay always cheerful.

The sounds of, be it a flute or ..... any other tunes and lyrics, which spoke in place of silence, the unspoken words and feelings, the regret, the joy, the happiness, the sadness, the challenge, the hope, the belief, the dreams and ....so on, always remain the remembrance of antecedents and many things in one's life, of a period of time, lots of things, things that cannot and will never be forgotten. Moments, days and years pass by but the fundamental holds and keeps them all for a lifetime. But firstly the best is to behold, to contemplate and cogitate on, and the rest is to ponder upon, to review and mull over. But nevertheless, one must always remember the sunshine, and the light instead of the darkness.
Your touchy poem says a lot, reflecting your wishes and your anxiety for your D.. .....who is still yours, despite all. MBH though you may feel drifted apart from your D.. but none can separate you from her, not even from her soul, with assurance.
I sincerely wish you to live on, to fight the odds, "Once there is a will, there's a way". That's what your D.... surely tells you even silently and unspokenly. Have faith always and as it is said, " Not always the agonising that goes" I wish you heartily many years to come, MBH. You were, you're still and will always be your D.... 's only one w L. ~~The tunes must always be heard as a remembered melody. Rain drops on the jasmine to refresh it and to keep it alive with hopes that the Jasmine will never die, wlaks.

In response to your comments, may I tell you that the poet might be wishing D to continue amusing herself in whatever manner she would like until the poet starts his journey towards the unknown where from no one ever returns! Her happiness always mattered to him!
