Connecting with Nature

Kanchenjunga From Tetulia, Bangladesh.

Since time immemorial, during this time of the year, those of us who love to view the splendors of nature from far off, visit Tetulia, a small town located in the northernmost corner of Bangladesh to enjoy the beauty of the snow-capped white mountains of Kanchenjunga.

Kanchenjunga, a part of the Himalayan range, is the third highest mountain in the world. It is located 157 km away from Tetulia in between the borders of the Indian province of Sikkim and Nepal.

Each year, visitors from various countries of the world travel to Darjeeling, a city of West Bengal, India which is also known as the ‘ of Himalaya’ to view the beauty of Kanchenjunga. However, Visitors from different parts of my country where I live do not need to fly to Darjeeling to enjoy the splendor and unmatched beauty of Kanchenjunga. The white snow-capped mountain is visible to our naked eyes during this time from Tetulia when the sky is cloudless. And the time is from mid-October to mid-November, every year!

Here below, ten pictures of Kanchenjunga mountains as seen from Tetulia taken by visitors can be seen by the interested readers of this blog.

Happy viewing!

BEAUTIFUL PHOTOS, LOOK. THANK YOU FOR SHARING AND SHOWING US JUST HOW LOVELY YOUR COUNTRY CAN BE. I AM VERY FORTUNATE, I DON'T NEED TO TRAVEL AT ALL TO SEE THE MOUNTAINS, THEY ARE VISIBLE FROM UP MY STREET AND FROM THE SEASHORE. ALL MY BEST, I AM FAIRLY CERTAIN YOU HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO TRAVEL TO THAT TOWN THIS YEAR.

Thank you so much for your post, Archer. The photos have not been taken by me. As mentioned above, these photos were taken by the visitors who went to this small town to see the wonders of nature! You are really a lucky person. You can connect yourself with nature when you come out of your apartment and look to the horizon of the city where you now live. You are absolutely right. I have not left the compound of my home since the last week of March of the current year. Take Care, Be safe.

Beautiful, just beautiful. Those mountains truly look like they are just floating in the sky.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Mrs.Joe,
Delighted to read from you here on my blog page after such a long time. Thank you so much for your post. The mountains will slowly disappear from views within the next few days when the fog will cover the entire area! Winter appears to have come a bit early this year! Take care and be safe, Mrs. Joe.

Maudie, it feels nice to read from you here on my blog page. You seem to be a lover of nature like many of us. The skies are blue everywhere in my country now. Rain clouds have since disappeared. Take care and stay well and cheerful always.

Hello Sewg,
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog page after such a long time. The comments that you have left here have made me thoughtful. By remaining at home confined, I simply abide by the instructions of my cardiologist as I am one from the high-risk group according to him. You may be correct in what you have said about this enforced "lockdown". Such enforcement should not be allowed to continue in a populous country like the one I live in now for obvious reasons. Here in my country, there is no "lockdown" now though we are required to use masks while we are out of our homes or at workplaces including shopping malls. It is a must now. I agree that big governments are evil. Such governments only waste taxpayers’ hard-earned money! US stock market is yet to crash. But we never know what may happen in the near future.
Though we have traveled a lot yet we could not visit many places which we longed to visit since our childhoods. In my case, I wanted to see the Inca lands in Peru. But it never happened! It is not on my bucket list now.
I Hope, you are keeping well. Take Care. Stay well and cheerful.

Yes, Lilium, these mountains of the Himalayan range have a great commanding presence in the northern border of our country since time immemorable! "The Himalayas abound in economic resources" in addition to their wonderful natural beauties! Thanks for stopping by my blog page and for your comment. Stay well and cheerful.

LookLook, those photos are very well composed indeed. A photographer can not go too far wrong with subject matter like that. So it is the 3rd highest mountain in the world. I know the 2nd highest is ' K2'. What's with all the K's? As a young backpacker in the 1980's I travelled to India, Nepal and Sri Lanka a number of times. Those were the days of adventure holidays. I always wanted to visit the tiny kingdoms of Bhutan and Sikkim, along with Dajjeeling. Dahjeling is the anglicised version of 'Dorgeling' (sp?) meaning Thunder Place. Thanks for your interesting bloggs and great photos.

Ratboy, thank you so much for stopping by my blog page. I appreciate. I know you have traveled a lot when you were an adventurous young man. Sikkim is no longer an independent Kingdom. It now stands annexed by India. Bhutan is a beautiful country though not a big one like Nepal.
My country is comparatively a flat one in comparison with Bhutan and Nepal. It is located on the Ganges and Brahmaputra river delta, the largest delta in the world. Both these two rivers originated from the Himalayas.

K2 is located in the disputed State of Jammu and Kashmir. It is also known as Mount Godwin Austen. In Chinese, it is called Qogir Feng. It is the second-highest peak in the world ( (28,251 feet [8,611 met(28,251 feet [8,611 meters]), Darjeeling was a part of undivided Bangladesh( Bengal). Now it is a district of West Bengal, India. We still call it "the daughter of Himalaya".
Take Care of Yourself, Ratboy. Be safe.

Beautiful pictures LookLook. I only have to walk a few blocks to get a view of the mountains. I am a block from the ocean and right now some of the ocean is visible as there are no leaves on the trees. Last week we had a king tide and thus there was lots of wind. When I went out on my balcony I could hear the sound of the waves as they would have been pretty high during this tide.
I do get out but not as often now with the Pandemic. But I go out to do my grocery shopping and also use the Pharmacy. We are still under lock down till December 7th and we were told by our health officer to stay at home as much as possible. I feel for you not being able to get out. Take care LookLook and be safe.

Shartaun, thank you so much for your post. I know you live in the bustling west coast seaport, ethnically which is one of the most diverse cities of your country. I know that Vancouver is surrounded by mountains. The ocean wind keeps you cool. As I have mentioned, I do not go out. I miss the park where I used to walk in the afternoon. My groceries are delivered to my home by the nearby super shop. When would this pandemic disappear? I simply ask myself! Stay happy and cheerful, and be safe.
