Until Obama made it the centerpiece of his campaign, nobody thought much about race. That was a problem we solved long ago"

What planet do you live on?

"Until Obama made it the centerpiece of his campaign"

Strange how people view things. How people's fears, when they are diminished, become vengeful for the fear itself.
Obama didn't make himself black.. You made him black. When you did, you feared what he would do because he was black. He didn't do those things! But your fear lingers.

"nobody thought much about race"

Forgetful convenience? First, it's a misjudgement of others...second it's a lie about YOU

"That was a problem we solved long ago".

This is where the planet you live isn't even in our solar system.
I keep going back to Trump's slogan.. Make America Great. Again.
A problem solved long ago, so we must return to the long ago?

Obama never threw his blackness at US... You just couldn't see anything different
Race has always been an issue and still is. We have come a long way....Obama was a crossroads, that could have begun to make race a non-issue. A road that still had a long way go, but a chance we'd make the correct choice at that crossroads. You wanted US to make the Right choice...You were going to force US to make the Right Choice

Where you choose to see a greater racial divide, because that's what you talked about. I saw a solution. I saw it coming to a point where the long road to racial problems could come to end.

Maybe you saw it too..and it scared you.......America being diluted? Our heritage being attacked. Our foundation being watered down, deteriorated, and falling apart.

What's better for You, than someone .. who.....Can "Make America Great Again"

I love jim's alcoholic rants. Made even more humorous by accusing someone else of being in another universe. Perhaps he was in an alcoholic stupor when barry went into his "Reverend rabble-rouser" persona. The Rev. Wright taught him well.

Tell us, jim: throw more welfare at them or give them education and jobs? Tell us all the good the welfare route has accomplished. Don't forget the cost-per-success figure.

Better still: how many people have you PERSONALLY helped out of their poverty?

"They were more than satisfied, they were relieved — such a pleasant surprise to find a well-mannered young black man who didn’t seem angry all the time.”

You just don't get it.

You think racism has to be just negative... It's roots are defining people by the color of their skin.
Don't feel bad.. Liberals don't get it either.

I agree with Obama, patronizing white people may not be the problem, but helps create the problem.

" The point I was making was not that Grandmother harbors any racial animosity. She doesn’t. But she is a typical white person…”

Again... You just don't get it.

Racism as it exist in this country is a "white" against "white" problem. Not a black against all whites, or all whites against blacks..

White people can't help themselves but to define what a black person is. The argument that ensues is the roots of racism. The argument voids a black person from defining what he is. A typical White person, has to have other white people agree with them of what a black person is.

Okay another alcoholic stupors......
I'll answer your question....Black people don't exist., but in your mind.

My answer... don't do anything for THEM, or against THEM.. Don't think in terms of THEM

Regarding your race card ... I'd like to hear your "logical argument" as to why you WANT or even believe that Mexico SHOULD pay the centerpiece of Trump's campaign ... the wall.

You voted for it please explain the logic?

Because in my experience property owners build fences and walls

Of course I believe you to be narrowminded, because of your focus on your agenda.

But what I now know is that your narrow mind, extends to words and phrases, and understanding analogies, and metaphors.

In a way, I gave more credit than you deserve. I figured you understood but did not want to acknowledge.. but, I got to draw a line... when even if you understand, your mind allows you to write something you know is false.

So now it only leaves me two choices... you either don't understand, or are a liar..

I kind of heading in the liar direction, not 100% sure of that. So I give you the choice...stupidity or dishonesty....

Ironically, this has been a topic for the past three years at our SAYMA (Southern Appalachian Yearly Meeting and Association) Quaker gatherings. I do believe that White Privilege and White Supremacy have been ingrained in our culture and will take a long time to change. Racism will die out with the dinosaurs long as they don't keep making babies. I remember working as a care provider and driving across the river to get to the man's house. My black co-workers mentioned being stopped by the cops every time they drove across the river to work. I was never stopped. That is definite racial profiling. On the other hand I was frequent stopped when I was driving home from Wal-Mart at the wee hours. I was being profiled as a potential drunk driver. I never got a ticket for whatever dumbazzzzed reason I was stopped because I would respond with "Yes Sir, here is my license, registration and proof of insurance. My late hubby ALWAY got a ticket because he would confront the cop with "What the #@$&FireUCK do you want, you azzzzzzzzhld@%!!!!!

Abracadabra

Your reply is intellectually weak and lazy. It's as if you cannot counter a logical argument or factual data. Hand yourself a race card

I can't explain it, unless you are willing to think about.
Definition of racism

1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.

The problem arises with the word "superiority" ...as being defined by the entire race and not in racial attributes. So a White Supremacist is a racist, because it has to do with just white and black races. White is superior to black because it's white.
No questions there. It's totally racist.

but what are the rest of US?...

Alternate...Definition of racism

1 : a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent difference in a particular race.

Superiority and difference is very subjective

The rest of Us fall into the subjective nature of differences...... being good or bad.

So what is the subjective criteria, that results in the potential for racism..... as a race, itself, being superior.
Well, it's an argument between whites of the positive and detrimental characteristic of a race. There are many arguments from whites that involve race...... the intelligence of a race, the physical attributes of a race, the industriousness of a race, the evolutionary scale of a race,, even to extent of which a race is more God like.

From the standpoint of blacks, their argument entails one major racial profile, agreed to by many whites...... that is the white race..... is more racist.

All these arguments, the argument itself, everyone of them, is the basis of racism, no matter which side of the argument you fall on.

The objective nature of racism...a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities
The subjective nature of racism......Is whether or not that produces superiority.

I'm pretty sure that you know my post wasn't border security. It was about the centerpiece of a racist presidential campaign ... THAT'S YOUR TOPIC.

Nice try, but head in sand usually isn't your style.

It's my opinion that Trump is a racist ... no proof is needed to have an opinion.

Your race card addresses logic.

So again, I would like to hear your "logical argument" as to why you WANT or even believe that Mexico SHOULD pay the wall.

I guess it's possible that you think it's not Mexico's responsibility to build our wall .. haha just kidding
