That hit the nail right on the head Maisie. These donkydonks have a right to be nervous when they try to refute the honest facts.
Entertainers should stick to their profession of entertainment be it acting, singing, sports, etc.

Kinda like doctors and lawyers. Having achieved some level of success at their professions, they think they can do anything.

Lot of smoking holes that used to be small planes flown by doctors and lawyers.

You're right about that.....people should stick to what they know.......I mean,
.....a semi-retired Walmart shelf-wrangler on a senior's site constantly spouting political opinion.......who would think she knew anything that isn't available to any Tom, Dick or Harriet?

My response to this blog was to demonstrate to Maisie that her premise for this blog "Stick To What You Know" can be applied to her as much as it applies to those she is complaining about. People can have many interests and curiosities and pursue and obtain knowledge in greatly divergent areas. Some people are more curious than others and educate themselves in many different subjects.

I'm merely pointing out to Maisie that she is breaking her own rules......which she does on a regular basis..........But you missed it

You missed it again.......I don't believe what Maisie believes, I don't think that Maisie shouldn't have a political opinion or doesn't have knowledge based on how she makes a living......I'm just turning Maisie's own opinion, based on what she says in this blog around on her to show her what a ridiculous premise she makes when she assumes that people don't have knowledge or deserve to voice their opinion based on what they do for a living........What the hell's the matter with you?.........

Yes, people do watch comedians who do political commentary. There is no rule, except in your narrow mind that politics can't be funny.......Political comedy has a long history....it's not as if it's a modern phenomena......Those political comedians are being paid for what they do.....Hmmm wonder why there is no pro-Republican political comedy..........And those football players that are taking a knee still play football just as well as those who stand.......before 2009, they stayed in the locker room while the National Anthem played........until the NFL got paid for patriotic displays. Paid millions of taxpayer dollars by the Department of Defence and the National Guard. ........The football players do what they are paid to do.....they play football....or maybe you think they should participate in patriotic displays because they are paid to do that.......

It seems rather obtuse of you to insist that politics and comedy should exist in separate universes. You say that comedians should do what they are paid to do,
yet you ignore the obvious reality that they are being paid to do exactly what they are doing.......Do you actually think that John Stuart or Bill Maher would have lasted that long if they didn't have an appreciative audience........

It is rather glaring that all the comedians in the genre are Lefties.........why is that do you think?.....Probably because they would be breaking Maisie's rules of separation.

OK....I think I have it now........Maisie doesn't find it entertaining, therefore she must find some way, no matter how twisted and obtuse, to prove that the whole genre is wrong, or bad, or , umm......just WRONG dammit.......In other words, The Queen is NOT amused.......

I am also a retired Wal-Mart retail worker/cashier. I have been to Washington DC as an activist and lobbyist. I have talked to Senators and Congressional Representatives about health care, prison reform, the drug problem in West Virginia, prison sentencing reform, environmental issues and foreign affairs. The prospective from a working class constituent is valuable as someone from a more "lofty" station in life. Our contribution to society is just as valuable if not more so than some of the more supercilious foreigners.

I'm confused..

Is your blog about . People who don't know, shouldn't speak or people who don't know shouldn't be listened to?

He shouldn't talk about because he's a... (fill in the blank)
Or you shouldn't listen to him, because he's a... (fill in the blank)

Or is it both?

Now that we understand who shouldn't speak and who shouldn't be listened to.
what I would like to know is "who should be"

Better yet... who do YOU think should speak, and who do YOU listen to.?

Like Donald Trump, or Barrack Obama?
Like McConnel, or Pelosi?
Like Dennis Miller or Jimmy Kimmel?
Like Roy Moore, or Harvey Weinstien?
Like Hannity or Maddow?

Massie...... who do You listen to?

That was meant to be ironic.......Turning Maisie's logic around.....You know,
when someone points a finger, you point one back at them. I'm not any smarter or more educated than you or Maisie and I have had a lot of menial labour jobs in my life.......

What I was trying to say is that Maisie has written a blog here that personally insults a bunch of people because they don't play by Maisie's rules of order......A late-night host/comedian who has the life experience of having a new baby with life-threatening medical issues requiring very expensive surgery and care and therefor has a very immediate and strong emotional response to a health-care bill that would prevent less- fortunate parents to afford medical care for their children.......He has empathy and the platform to make his appeal to a large audience.........But Maisie thinks that is wrong, that he claims he is an medical expert and has no business remarking on it.......As Maisie knows, because I have provided that information in the past, The mother of his baby, his wife, is one of the main writers on the show and they have been working together with the staff for 15 years..........But Maisie thinks that's immaterial, because she sees herself as arbiter of what comedians should do and say.....even though, as far as I know, Maisie has never worked in TV production............

I thought I could make my views known with a short, ironic comment, but irony is apparently in short supply among Maisie's tail-waggers.

Maisie declares that my first comment was a personal insult instead of a comment on the content of the blog. Thing is, this blog, as most of Maisie's blogs, is nothing but a series of personal insults........My comment was an attempt to turn Maisie's insulting, judgemental rhetoric around in an attempt to illustrate to her and her waggers, that the premise and the content were just yet another vacuous hatchet job on those she deems "The Other.".........

Well you didn't answer my question.

I listen to everybody.. everybody that chooses to speak., no matter their walk in life
For me it's not about agreement... It's about understanding

I do have a prejudice, that I constantly invoke... It's about hypocrisy. Everything anybody says. No matter their walk in life... I agree with them saying it, as long as they walk the walk.

So today, Trump tweeted about Franken.. I don't have a problem with the tweet, he can say it... but really, the hypocrisy is mind-boggling. For me, it wasn't about what he said...It was that he had the gall to say it. That his hypocrisy about it, is just amazing, It's beyond my comprehension that other people don't comprehend it.

The Senior Blogging Site is an appropriate place to express political views regardless of occupation. I love country music and Charlie Daniel's political views didn't stop me from going to his concert but if he wants to sing love songs to Trump - he would be better off going to a Trump rally instead of at a concert paying customers. Needless to say, if I am zoning products on a Wal-Mart shelf, that is not the time to wear a pink hat nor would I wear that hat at the DAR Continental Congress.
