HERE THEY GO AGAIN

A gunman opened fire in a California night club last night and killed 12. He had a handgun.

So what is the Democrats reaction? Condolences? Nope- Politics.

It's heartbreaking to wake up to another mass shooting — this one at a nightclub in California," said New Jersey Rep. Donald Payne Jr. "This is horrific! Dems have the House in January, and we are ready to take action to [end gun violence]."

Florida Rep. Ted Deutch, a Democrat, said his party "will take up comprehensive, nation-wide reforms, but we can’t make our communities safer if we don’t do this together."

Rep. Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash. "We need to act now [and] break the vicious cycle of gun violence & mass shootings that plague our country."

Act to do what? Legislate against evil?

They know nothing- if the guy's gun was legal, why he did what he did, or anything else about the shooting, but they are going to run and pass laws. To what end?

I suppose if I were cynical, I am sure they regret the guy did not have an AR-15.

More posturing, endless virtue signaling. There will be finger pointing at the ever-scapegoated NRA, Republicans, and of course, somehow this will be Trump's fault.

Never let a crisis go to waste, right?

So Maisie, if,as you say, "evil" is the cause of the vast amount of gun violence in the US,please define this "evil" and tell us, oh all-knowing one, why America has so much more evil than other countries.........

The pistol was a Glock .45 with an "illegal" (in Cali) hi-cap mag(s). The man was an ex-Marine (I know, purists, there is no such thing as an "ex").

Fearless Prediction: PTSD. Little-or-no help from the VA. Barry O'bungle's Rules of Engagement contributed.

And, no: this is NOT the PTSD being claimed by snowflakes because Trump got elected.

According to the website Gun Violence Archive, more than 12,000 people have been killed using firearms in the US so far this year, including about 3,000 people under 18.

That number does not include an annual estimate of 22,000 suicides via firearm.

In the last two weeks alone, a man shot dead two people yoga studio in Florida, and another gunman opened fire on a synagogue in Pittsburgh, killing 11.

The senseless destruction of human life whether by a Glock .45, AR-15 or a uterine currette is evil. The only difference is the term being used to describe the act. The end results are the same.

Law enforcement was called to his house last April. He was screaming and trashing his own house. The mental health people who quickly evaluated him at the time , said he was not a danger to himself or others.

I do have to wonder if he got care at the VA, if he was on some waiting list, or if he had ever been diagnosed with any psycological problems.

What's you point? That people wont kill themselves if they dont have a gun? In Japan, where there is little, if any, private gun ownership, people jump in front of trains and off buildings.
Or that if there are no guns, there will no anti-Semitism? Or mental health issues?

We can get somewhere with these issues when people stop wasting time talking about the weapons, and start focusing on our mental health system.

There isn't. Like I said- we have more people and we are much more transparent.
I notice you call the US " evil", but we dont have female genital mutilation, child marriage, beheadings, public floggings, throwing gays off rooftops, menstrual huts, or demand women cover themselves from head to toe.

We also do not have " hate speech " laws, blasphemy laws, or any other laws which prohibit unpopular speech.

I watched the press conference also. I saw a President trying to move the conference along, while a reporter, known for rudeness, grandstanding, hogging the microphone , would not yield the floor to his colleagues when asked. Had anyone done that to Obama, the rest of the media would be condemning him or her, and working to get them removed from the White House Press Corps. How dare they disrespect the office of the President that way, they would cry.
I know you hate the US. Let me wipe a tear from the corner of my eye.

Holding the press accountable to tell the truth and be fair , is not the same as silencing them . CNN ratings are in the garbage can- and all because of crap like this. They have made their agenda clear, and the only people who watch is, is those who hate this President anyway, not anyone looking for actual news. I see better, fairer coverage from MSNBC, and that is saying something.

And one more time, I wish the Trump haters would stop marginalizing and disrespecting the millions who were murdered , tortured, and imprisoned at the hands of the actual Nazis . Telling a rude reporter to shut up ,is not the same as gassing 8 million people.

Oh I see Lulu is on her Shetland Pony again. Abortion is murder. The killing of an innocent human being is wrong, even if that human being has yet to be born. Unborn babies are considered human beings by the US government. The federal Unborn Victims of Violence Act, which was enacted "to protect unborn children from assault and murder," states that under federal law, anybody intentionally killing or attempting to kill an unborn child should "be punished... for intentionally killing or attempting to kill a human being." The act also states that an unborn child is a "member of the species homo sapiens." At least 38 states have passed similar fetal homicide laws.

Atrocities like this get a lot of attention because of the magnitudes of deaths at once. Because there are those in our country who are anti-gun, they jump right on it and use it as a political football.
Automobile death totals each year are four or five times higher than gun deaths, but they occur with fewer fatalities, and because even the far left uses cars, there is no public outrage over those deaths.

Life's short. Be sure you spend your time on the internet, arguing with strangers over politics.

And they never want to go to the source of the atrocity, mental illness. Contrary to what Leaf Blower spouts, a normal, sane law abiding citizen who buys a gun because they were mugged , does not then go out and shoot small children because the gun made him do it.
And taking away the gun from Mr. Smith, is not going to stop the mental illness of Mr. Jones.

Me Me Me, you sound like Barack Obama who always included the word I in all his speeches.
Abraham Lincoln’s Gettyburg Address was only 272 words--and did not include any form of the first person singular.
In one of Obama’s speech, he used a first person singular, on average, every 12 seconds. At that rate, had Obama spoken for just 15 more minutes, he would have used the first person singular more than 272 times in one speech—exceeding all the words in the Gettysburg Address.
