I'm sure if I check with my family members and friends who own guns, none of their guns have gone out and shot somebody. I'm just as sure that my car is sitting quietly in the garage and did not go out and kill anyone last night.
The common denominator in both set of statistics is PEOPLE.
But you are asking a lot to ask for accurate statistics.... as we know, liars can figure and figures can lie. Anyone can manipulate the numbers to prove their own point of view.
But in the long run, it is not the car, or the gun, it is the people......and people continue to drive irresponsibly, and if someone is bent on hurting or killing someone, they will use whatever method they find.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

So...according to maisie... if I buy a car, I'm a potential killer.
But, if I buy a gun, I'm a potential hero!

Is that really what Humanity has come down to?

That kind of lame thinking says a lot about "intent".
No driver gets into his vehicle with the intent to kill or maim anyone. That's why we call them "accidents"!
However, someone with a gun obviously has the intent to use it to kill or maim. That is it's only purpose, after all is said and done.

Twist my words any way you like.

This "foreign dim" knows that cars are transport, not bought with any intent to kill.

Guns, on the other hand, have absolutely no other use...so, someone walking down a street armed with a gun...has the intent to use it.

That's true with or without the 2nd Amendment.

It's also true with belief in God...or without it.

"Dim"... is your kind of pseudo "thinking".

By the way... are you trying to say that only drivers are responsible for road accidents?
That's even more pseudo thinking.

"The law abiding do not buy guns to use them. They buy in the hope they do not have to use them."......Hoping you won't ever find yourself in a situation where you feel the urge to fire your gun is not the same as not having the intent to use it....They intend to use it.....when they deem it necessary......and as we all know, those instances are all too frequent.....

Your assumption is way off mark...in fact it's hysterical!
You need to stop guessing about what my life has been, since every time you and your husband do guess, you both put your foot in your mouths...bigtime!

And you wonder why I laugh!?

Here's some news for you...

Without emotion life would not and could not exist!

Think about it... you may be surprised! Everything, every single thing we Humans do, is governed by our emotions.

I can't believe anyone could get to your age without realising that!

There are many kinds of gun-owners......Some are hunters and hope they will have many opportunities to fire them........some shoot at firing ranges as a sport and recreation......they also buy guns with the hope and intention to fire them often. Hopefully, those who buy guns for the express purpose of stopping a criminal, they also spend lots of time firing it at a shooting range and getting other training so that they can evaluate the function of the weapon and the circumstances they should use it and other safety lessons.

There have been many circumstances where people buy a gun solely for their own and families protection that don't educate themselves about gun safety. They may purchase a gun, as you say, with the hope they never have to fire it, but, as we all know, there are many people......way too many people who are very poor at deciding what that circumstance is.........They leave their guns around where children can find them, they are paranoid and fearful to a degree that causes them to fire their gun in unsafe ways and they misinterpret the circumstances, or .........I don't want to list all the possible ways that guns kill people in spite of, or because of the gun-owner hopes he will never have to use it....

...Is that what you call critical, unemotional thinking?
