MY FAITHFUL DOGS

It's my great pleasure today, to share with you my recent sad experience with one of my faithful sincere companions, "My 2 Lovely Dogs". Their names are: Prince and Duke, 2 GSD males of 9 yrs old now. They are both such cuties, very faithful, devoted, sensible, obedient and moreover my really excellent guard dogs.

I bought them in their puppy-hood. Prince was a gift to my , when she had passed her last Primary school exams, a National one, with an outstanding result of 5 A+, over 95%, which is required/obligatory to be admitted in the top 5 Star girls Secondary School here, called "The Queen Elizabeth Secondary School". While Duke was also bought for me, so that Prince wouldn't feel lonely.

They have a big room, built specially for them, with a wide free front fenced space for a panoramic view, in the garden of my house. Unfortunately due to bad weather 2 weeks ago, with heavy rain and strong cold wind, instead of keeping indoor, Prince always likes to play in such weather and it seems that night he had done so, while we were asleep. Therefore he has been seriously sick a couple of days ago. I brought him to the back porch of my house, to keep him warm and easy to watch and to nurse him as well, giving him some medicines as first aid but yet his state of health didn't improve.
Prince was on the verge of dying, he couldn't breathe, neither eat and drink nor sleep too and it was impossible to get a vet by that late evening.

I was in such a deep sadness, so worried about him, to the extend of spending most of that night awake with him, watching him, I couldn't prevent my tears, I talked to him, caressed him and begged him to keep alive till dawn. He noticed my tears dropping on my hands,he then bent and lapped them off, in a way to tell me, don't cry. He looked at me sadly and I could see two drops running down his face too. It was very touchy as well. I wasn't really sure he would pass that night alive and I started to pray for him, to be able to stay alive till the next morning, so that I take him to the Vet.

I felt so tired by my 5 am and was obliged to take some rest in my bedroom and I fell asleep. Awaken 2 hours later, I was really afraid to go down to him, I doubted if he would still be alive. Sitting on my bed, I wondered what I would see in the porch, a dead body or Prince still alive!!, I was reluctant to go really but then I took my courage and went down, I was so happy to see Prince lifting his head looking at me, though still very weak and in pain.

I immediately called a Specialized private Vet who is quite far from my residing town and explained the case of Prince to him, begging him to save his life at any cost. The Vet had noticed my great sadness and asked me to bring Prince along immediately. Instantly, I've covered the back seat of my car, placed the on it and drove to the town which is four towns away from mine. Prince seemed to be half dead!!. In the heavy traffic, I did my best to reach as quick as I could and the Vet allowed my to be in quickly and examined thoroughly. He made some tests and diagnosed the sickness of Prince. He then told me that Prince has got an acute Bronchitis and an inflammation in his lungs and fever as well. And that Prince was really in a very serious condition.

The Vet, then gave him 6 injections: one in his neck, one intravenous and two intramuscular at each back leg. He had to dilate the bronchus so that Prince can be able to breathe better, to also bring down the fever, antibiotic injection for the infection and also to give him some strength. Other tabs to stimulate his appetite to eat and drink as he was very weak. He then asked me to wait for a while as he wanted to see the reaction of the injections on Prince. Then after a while, he gave me a prescription other tablets to be given Prince daily for a week time. He asked me to phone him back the next day to inform him about the situation.

I am so happy now that my Prince has been saved, he is far better now, is breathing well and has started to eat, drink, sit upright and sleep too, he looks more joyful today. I thank God for this and I am so grateful to this careful and devoted Vet.
I have hereby uploaded a few pics of Prince and Duke, my lovely companions, my faithful best friends and my sincere guards too.
That's what I wanted to share with you today, for those who have similar feelings for their pets. You would understand then what I've gone through these last few days. I thank you for reading me here and wish you all my best.
Thank you so much.
Lisa.

Beautiful dogs. I know how it feels to sit up with a sick animal. The same as having a sick baby. Glad he is better.

I lived those moments with you while reading you blog. We lost ours to an enlarged heart right after the Macon Gathering. The vet said she would not last much over 8 years and she was over 10 years old.

The wife found another she liked within a week. She is now 10 weeks old and we enjoy her so much. As all the others she will not replace them but will bring us joy and help us to get over our loss.

Thanks for sharing the photos. He is a beautiful dog and I am sure they give you constant protection. OH! and the beautiful rose bush; I love roses.

Im so so glad. You must have gone through hell. My dog has cancer, my scottie, and I think I can see him deteriorating slowly. There is no cure and he is 12 yrs old. My other dog has a sttiff back leg and will have to go to the Vet as well. It makes me sad now takingnthem out. I have one very healthy dog, Gregor, who is also a Scotch Terrier and I know he will be lost when his brother dies.
We become so attached to our pets. Prince looks just like that, a Prince of dogs.

Gasi, warm welcome to my blog as usual.

Am so glad for your visit and for your nice comments too. Yes, I remember the case of your dog, I was sad too when she passed away, I had lost the same before and I can understand how painful it is. But once Carol has got another one, she would be a good companion as well, though the previous one can never be forgotten. When we are attached to our pets, it is always so. Yes Gasi, my dogs are good guard dogs too and am safe here with them around.
Thanks for your appreciation of my rose garden, as you know I love flowers so cannot have a plain garden at all. I have all sort of flowers, ferns and fruit trees too, They really embellish the garden and the house also.. there fore giving a joyful environment to live in.
Wishing you all my best, hoping for you visit as soon as I'll post other blogs. I'LL ADD A FEW PICS MORE ON THE SAME BLOG, SO CHECK THEM OUT.
Thank you so much.
Lisa.

Dear Robyn,

It's always a great pleasure reading you on my blogs and thanks for your usual visit too. I can understand how sad you are having such a dog with such a sickness. But as long as you have done your best for him, you should not regret it, remain happy with him until the last moment Robyn.
I had also lost 2 dogs before, due to old age but when their time comes, we can't really do anything, though so sad.
Wish Gregor, will be a relief for you though he may be alone when your Scottie will be no more. It's hard I know Robyn.
All my best wished to you.
Lisa.

Prince does not look ferocious to me at all. I know how the last few days went by at your end. Perhaps you will please remember what I said about Prince!! He is a fighter as well as a survivor too! All the best, Lisa.

Looklook, welcome to my blog again,

Glad to read from you on most of my blogs. Thank you for your visit and your nice comments too. Yes, my Prince is not a ferocious dog by any means, They are both trained not to attack anyone for no reason but if an intruder enters, then it's really something else, as it had happened once. As my garden is well fenced and the 2 gates have locks, so it is really risky for anyone to enter without our permission. If they do, then my dogs will attack them for sure and once it is in my garden with the locked gates, whatever would happen to the intruder by my dogs, there would be no judiciary case as we were told by the police.
My dogs are here for our safety, as our guard dogs, as our faithful companions and as our sincere best friends too.
Thanks warmly again Look and I wish you all my best.
Lisa.

Looklook, welcome back again.

This is an open quiz on an open photo. Anyone who can detect the person on that photo may answer. There is no question of who, how and where. If I wanted to ask that question in private in whichever way, I could do so of course but here is an open page and that's where I have asked it.
You are free and welcome to answer it too.
Wish you get the correct answer, good luck.
Best wishes,
Lisa.
