Dems are as anxious to "do something" about guns as they are to fix DACA/Immigration. They aren't about to lose talking (whining) points by actually solving anything.

I don't believe children or teens would be traumatized by knowing some of the teachers could be armed. Quite the opposite, I believe they would feel more safe. Most kids, at least in our part of the country, have been around guns because they have family members who hunt or shoot skeet and target practice. Would the schools start putting "This is NOT a gun free zone" signs up to warn would be shooters, just like they put up the "gun free zone" signs that let them know they can safely get away with murder. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Yeah......you got that from Fox.....I saw that the kid had written a lengthy speech, which they were not scripted for....meaning they had a certain amount of time and many people and everyone got a certain amount of time to ask a question......as is always the case....it wasn't an open-ended free-for all. They said all the kids wrote their own questions, keeping them within a time framework, but this one boy kept wanting to make a lengthy speech, so the CNN people tried to help him put his ideas into a shortened question format, which he refused to use and his father pulled him out of the program......... You often make statements as if they are facts that aren't factual....or are heavily slanted semi-truths........I see you doing this a lot.....It makes me wonder if you are deliberately lying and just hoping that no one will check it out, or that you are actually just a mark and can't think for yourself.

What criteria would you use to deem someone who has volunteered to carry a gun in a school "trustworthy"?.......The mere fact that they volunteered? Wouldn't they need to be certified? Who will design the certification program? Who will pay for it? Who will make sure it is carried out properly?......Or is the Guvmint just going to hand over billions to existing training/certification programs, perhaps military or police? And who will keep track of it all? Will the individual county or state put put together their own certification criteria, or will it be federally mandated? Will the certification carry over from one employer to another? How about across state lines......or will each municipal school=board deal with it individually......How often would a volunteer's licence to carry within a school need to be renewed?......And again.....who will pay for it?

Yes I did.......I have a good nose for fake news and Maisie's statement rang false so I did the research......I watched the piece with Carlson, I watched the CNN piece, I heard the questions asked by the other survivors who I have now seen and heard speak several times and Haab's story didn't sound right to me. Those kids are not push-overs. If they had been given a script to follow we would have heard from them by now..... CNN says that it was the father who was pushing the speech and who cancelled. I see now that Trump tweeted Carlson's opinion......Trump seems to get all his information from Fox opinion programs.....thinks it's news.......then he spreads the lies and calls CNN Fake and the idiots keep sucking on that Trump Tweet Tit like it was mother's milk......You guys are seriously losing your grasp on reality.......

Of the responsible multitude who have multitude guns, even 'fuzzy' legally, I feel much less threatened than the kids I see on the the street with their pants down, calling each other Mother eFers and Nigs having one gun which would never be obtained legally. Sending 'little darlings' on a financed and scripted mission, when they should be back in school with the majority who were there too, into a mob event will hopefully make them realize they are being used. I 'hear' the 'pissed' Father at the WH, and just like the kids he will live the rest of his life 'living out' what happened. We hear means and methods, what about motivation. If photos of the shooting victims were shown, would any shooter say "yup, glad I shot that one". Or would they say "I liked that one, or never saw them before, or had nothing against them personally". Then who drove them to this kind of attack. My guess it is rarely the actual victims.

..Not to excuse the shooter, but pushed over a line anyone will come out swinging. Or shooting. Or blogging. Kids with weapons in the military are very closely supervised, for those who think they just go about willy nilly brandishing guns

JW, I tend to agree with you. While not downplaying the importance of prayer, there has to be actions done too. Sitting at our computer screens, arguing and rehashing the SOS does nothing but create anger and raise blood pressures. Fishing sounds great, and it's a good therapy, but I haven't been fishing for decades, and besides it is too darn cold here to sit on a river bank right now. Hope the fish are biting for you! The freest country on Earth by your own standards only.....and when you claim the "freest on Earth" the rest of the people on Earth also have a say and the US isn't in the top 10 in anyone's rankings outside the US.

Did you watch the CNN Town Hall where these kids were speaking? It was obviously not scripted, the kids asked a question and then voiced rebuttals based on the answers given by several different people, including politicians, a sheriff and an NRA spokesperson.....If you watch it, it's clear that it wasn't scripted.

Yeah, yeah, we already know that you think your constitution makes your country the "freest" but there are other criteria... for instance, though the US has only 4.4 % of the World's population, it has 20.4% of the World's prisoners. More than 7.2 million citizens behind bars......and US prisons have a very harsh reputation ......in 2012, over 5 million Americans who had already served their allotted time in prison couldn't legally vote......when you add that to those in prison, that's 12 and a half million Americans that weren't allowed to vote....... 12.5 million.....Just one criteria that non-Americans use to measure freedom.......
