Getts Remembering Triggered a Memory My Dad was quite a character...he was always telling stories and my Mom, Brother and I wondered how true they were. He told a story several times about he and his "cronies" stealing 2 cows when they were in their late years and turning them loose in the high school gym of our small town. Someone found them the next morning, one was in the bleachers bellowing and the other was spread eagled on the basketball court. Cow manure was everywhere!! They had to redo the floor of course. The police went to Dad and the guys and they too were out of town that evening and knew nothing about it but would ask around and see if anyone would know anything about it. Fast forward 40 years...I was living in California and Dad had passed away about 5 years before. I had subscribed to the little hometown newspaper. There was a column called Looking Back - 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 years ago. Under 40 years was...Halloween is drawing close, windows are being soaped downtown and 2 cows were found in the high school gym!! My Mom was visiting and I started laughing saying...Oh my God Mom it is true!! Counted back and he would have been 17. He would have loved seeing that article!! Funny they never found out who did it for sure! I still chuckle whenever I remember it! Thanks Getts for letting me remember again. |

Hi Abelle: Sounds like a real good story. Bet he laughed about it every thime he thought of it. Memoriesd do that. lot of nice pranks or things to remember. Thanks again for sharing. Luv, Ray
