They run from ANY example of American Exceptionalism. Or, as one writer put it, the THIRD time in the past 100 years we've saved France's butt. Waiting to see what barry calls the perp. In a non-barry America, the Air Force guy who got slashed with a box-cutter would get (at least) a Purple Heart.

Correct, rent - the early reports had them as 3 soldiers. More power to the civilian! I won't call the addition of the French and Brit guys purely window dressing to save face, but they are not mentioned in the accounts of the 3 Americans.

That's pretty typical. I doubt if "the 3" were thinking medals. As I recall, if there is any conscious thought about the consequences, it's a lot closer to "this isn't right" than anything else.
