Fukengrooven is BACK

First, the Japanese touted "kansei engineering". It supposedly had something to do with how you feel about building a car. Not to be outdone, the Germans countered with "farfugnugen". This was about how you feel about DRIVING the car. It also generated hilarious take-offs like funken-grooven and my fave (in the title).

Well....they're BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK

Mazda now has "kodo design". The feeling of the motion of the car when it's standing still.

I'm not sure which is worse: a car which senses your feelings and functions accordingly or something like the Ya-who car which will only take you where IT (and Ya-who) thinks you ought to go.

I remember how happy I was when I unplugged the "your door is ajar" module in my first "intelligent" car. Kinda like Dave and HAL in "2001".

And I'll do it again......
