I believe we are taught these common courtesies and respectful ways as a child. Unfortantely, it seems some were not. Or else they have forgotten how to greet someone. My pet peeve is when a word is used and someone thinks it is about them and it is not even close or about them. Guess they think they are so important everything is about them.

No peeves. I remember trying to hold conversations with several in order to bring several into it. The way to get that started is to ask them a question. Saying hi or welcome does not get it done. LOL I would ask every new lady who came in if she was tall. LOL The oldies would jump me something terrible Then defend the newbie thus they all had something to talk about. I suffered a little but it was fun. LOL Some of the ladies would ask what guys were looking for in the ideal woman. That usually got it started. Many laughs ---loads of fun. Just laugh at the ones who are critical because they don't know anything better to do. PARTY ON!

TYPE LOL after everything like I do. Then they know to take everything you say lightly. After all----they can't see you a thousand miles away and they are not mind readers. LOL When under attack I think how ridiculous and funny it is to fret over typed internet words. LOL Party On!

I basically agree with Butterfly. I enter the chat room to pass some pleasant time and have a bit of FUN. Occasionally more serious topics are discussed and that's okay too. I don't like when some folks use upper case [capital] letters most of the time. The use of crude or obscene words/phrases by a couple of people is disappointing and certainly unbecoming in a senior FRIEND finder room. The ignore feature is an asset so that a chatter doesn't have to see the posts of those who they feel are nasty. Unfortunately some are too curious to use it. All the above being said, I very much enjoy my chatroom friends and the interesting conversations we have.
