Tanz, do you think there is just more hatefulness in chat.... and in our world in general, or is it just being called to our attention more? I remember years ago, that I had been going to our church for a few years before I ever heard someone say something negative and hateful about another person there. I just considered the source, a new person, but it bothered me. I asked an older member about this kind of attitude, and was told that it happened occasionally, but was not the norm and hopefully over time, that person's attitude would either change or she would leave. I wonder if it is the same in chat? I do not remember that attitude in the chat rooms back when I first joined and spent hours every evening in chat. After Joe and I married, I gradually spent less time there and then found the advice lines, and more recently the blogs. But it appears that negative attitude crept into the chat rooms, and instead of individuals with that attitude changing or leaving, many others just left and now keep in touch in face book. I keep thinking maybe I would go into chat, but just never seem to have the time or inclination to do so. Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

We all joined this Senior FRIEND Finder site to meet new people, pass some pleasant time, and have fun. Like real life, we encounter many different people, coming from many diverse life experiences..... some happy and some unhappy. Those in unhappy or frustrating life situations sometimes carry those into the site creating division and animosity, while others who may be in similar situations look to escape that unhappiness by laughing & joking. The mood in the chatroom is affected by both types~~~

Some folks just don't want to move on. Why? I haven't figured it out. Is it the drama, attention, control or just creating craziness in the chat room. One thing I have learned in chat is to chat and have fun with the folks who want to do the same and ignore the ones who don't. Has made me a lot happier is chat. Also if you think this is about you as the song says YOUR SO VAIN and everything in the chat room is not about one specific person/persons. THIS IS MY DISCLAIMER: No this is not about YOU, as the old saying goes if the shoe fits wear IT.
