Julianne Moore Won!!!

Julianne Moore won best actress at the Oscars and I'm glad for 3 reasons. First, Alzheimer's disease needs more funding and more recognition. The fact of the matter is that as the population ages, there will be more people than ever before diagnosed with it. My uncle had dimentia for 20 years and it is a horrible disease (not that there are any good ones).

Secondly, I'm glad she won because she started in a soap opera. Her first real break was on As The World Turns. Unlike many soap opera stars who seem to have amnesia about their beginnings, she acknowledged it in one of her recent acceptance speeches. Good for her!!!

Lastly, she's a redhead and as a natural redhead, I was happy. Ok, that wasn't that big a deal that she's a redhead but I preferred giving 3 reasons. It sounds better. lol

Wishing everyone a good week and let's have some fun here!!!

I have seen Julianne on a few talk shows. She did well and am glad to see she won. MY Most memorable moment on the Oscars was when Lady Gaga sang the songs from Sound of Music. I was almost expecting to see both Christopher Plummer and Julie Andrews walk out together. It was very emotional that they had Julie Andrews come out at the end of Lady Gagas rendition of the Sound of Music. I am actually a fan of hers and really like her singing. She is a little off the wall but she is very talented. I thought they put on a good show at the Oscars tonight.

That was very touching, Lady Gaga with Julie Andrews. I was a big fan of The Sound Of Music. I even saw the stage version in Toronto years back. Thanks for your response, Shartaun03.

I love reality TV but I don't watch Kardashian anything. I gave it a shot and it bored me.

Glad you like redheads.

I like Julianne Moore, she is a very talented actress, very versatile. Have to say I am with that Bill guy though, I don't watch TV and even if I did, the Oscars aren't my cup of tea.

The only redhead in my family was my baby brother, we still haven't figured that one out, lol.

Nice to see you on my blog, Nileyears. I like Julianne Moore too and have for a very long time. I was even happier she won because I hope it makes people more aware about Alzheimer's.

I'm thrilled Julianne Won and lady Gagas Performance was outstanding
Thanks DIane. Lady Gaga singing songs from The Sound Of Music, let me see her in a new light, and it shone brightly.

She is a very talented actress and I'm glad she won. However I didn't watch the Oscars. Good to see some worthy charities benefiting from it.

Thanks for responding, Maura.

I hope that the Alzheimer's Society of Canada and in the USA and everywhere else, get more donations due to increased awareness of this dreadful disease.
