THIS BLOG HAS GONE TO THE DOGS!!!

I love dogs especially my Skippy. He died in 1988. He was an Hungarian Puli according to the SPCA. The vet said he's a Briard. Whichever he was, he was smart and loving and oh so cute.

The first picture is of Skippy. The second picture was from an online photo from the Westminister Kennel Show. What do you think of this dog? The other pictures I saw on the internet. I hope you enjoy them!!!

HAPPY EASTER OR GOOD PASSOVER!!!

Yes I do miss him, frenchsalsa, thanks. I'm sorry about your dog. Losing a dog is losing a member of the family. I love looking at pictures of dogs so I'm glad you enjoyed the photos.

It's just like people. Some like petite and some like full figured. I prefer medium to small dogs. I'm a bit afraid of the large ones. It's cute what you said about people dumping off their dogs at your house, Pat. It's nice you took those dogs in.

Thanks Renee. I never tried to have my dog be a show dog. He wouldn't have been able to because he's a mixed breed. I wouldn't have tried anyhow. I just wanted a pet. Skippy was either an Hungarian Puli (SPCA said) or Briard (vet said). I'm not sure which.

It show dogs can't have fun like other dogs, that's sad actually.

Each to their own, Maisie. I think cats are cute too. It's their independence that I'd have a problem with. I like a pet that wants to be petted and comes over to me. I heard cats are standoffish, but I can't say that from personal experience. Let me know if I was told false information.

I love the one of the golden retrievers. I have had 3 of them. This is the first time in my entire life I have not had a dog living with me. Can't have one here so mine stays at my house. She is a wonderful companion for my residents. I also had cats all of my life, currently one with me and 3 at the residence.

I am a big dg lover and I still miss my little Pierre. He was a Schnoodle and just the cutest dog with a plus 1 personality. Having to have your dog put down was the worst thing I had to do. But he prostate cancer and the vet said it was advise able to have him put down. I decided after that not to get another dog. I enjoy the neighborhood dogs and there are a number of dogs in my complex where I live.

I'd like to think that's a mother with her children. They are cute. Pets are wonderful. They are loving and always there for you. Thanks for your comment Spirit.

Hi Elaine: What adorable pics. I have a spectacular collection of hundreds of tiny little ceramic dogs, three display cases full of dogs now and still collecting.

I prefer big dogs, little ones aren't much protection out where I live, in fact, they would be coyote food, just like all the stray cats that make a home here, it doesn't last long, I see them for about a month and they disappear.

Little dogs are cute and some are so smart, yet others are kind of nippy. Sort of like some people I know, lol.

There's a very special place in my heart for those among us that have rescue dogs and/or find good homes for rescues!!

I find cats are more needy than dogs. No, they don't come to you when called, but when they want attention, they can be very demanding, and sometimes just outright rude!!

When I was younger, I didn't even realize that dogs could be diabetic or get diseases like cancer. I was very naive. I'm sorry about Pierre, Shartaun03. I understand how you feel regarding getting another dog. Thanks for your heartfelt comment.

Thanks so much for saying that about Skippy. He was beautiful. It's possible that I'm wrong about cats. I heard they are independent but maybe that's only in some cases. If a cat is affectionate, they could be as wonderful to have as a dog. Thanks so much for your comment, Roxy.

True, Rae. I wouldn't be able to take a dog of mine disappearing, so given those conditions you have, big dogs do seem wise. I've always been partial to the medium and small dogs. Thanks for commenting on my post.

We bought our dog at the SPCA. I think that dogs are great pets and give unconditional love that is heartwarming. I doubt I'd buy a dog at a pet shop. Abandoned dogs need homes. When we bought Skippy, we saw he was matted and the SPCA said he was not well taken care of. We were happy to have him and love him.

Thanks for your comment, Rocket.

You're a warm loving person, RosesLady. Your pets are very lucky to have you. Somebody else I chatted with the other day said they have a Golden Retriever too. Must be a popular breed. Thanks for your comment.
