BE HONEST - ARE YOU A GOOD COOK and DO YOU LIKE COOKING?

I will say right now that when I cook something, I do it well. i don't really love cooking. It takes a long time and then it's eaten in a short period. I like good things to last.

Be honest - are you a good cook? Do you like cooking or is it expected of you? What dish are you most famous for making, among your friends and family?

I love cooking Elaine and I can cook Filipino and Italian dish very well. You ask me what you want I will cook. I learned cooking with my sicilian mother in law.

Everybody loves my cooking!

I have always been told I am a good cook. Years ago an acquaintance would ask me to make an apple pie for her as no one else could make an apple pie like I did. I have made so many things over the years and another friend liked my fudge. She said I made the best fudge. Unfortunately my fudge making days are over with as I have had to cut sugar out of my diet. Those are two dishes that were always a hit with my friends.

Sounds good, Shartaun03. I never tasted homemade fudge. Thanks for sharing more about you here.

This seemed like a good idea for a post but now I'm getting hungry. I could almost smell that delicious pecan pie. Homemade bread, fresh out of the oven, is heavenly. I'm not a big bread eater, quite the contrary, but soft hot bread is irresistible. Thanks for a wonderful comment, Pat.

I am a good cook...but like you Shuel, I don't prefer to cook.

I'd rather sit on a stool with a yummy glass of wine, and have engaging conversations with the chef....

I can make a dynamite standing rib roast, lamb chops, sweet & sour bacon wrapped water chestnuts, etc. etc. Oh.... and my rum cake...

I used to have a sign on my fridge that said, "Let's eat out!"

I know exactly what you mean, Rocket. I think a sign saying "Let's eat out!!!" is cute. Thanks for your interesting response.

I can cook, but only cook when inspired, then I like to do something exotic. I dont like to make the day to day regular stuff for myself, but dont mind if others are coming to dinner and lay it on for them.

Judgment Day will be interesting - and all paths lead there.

I'm a lousy cook and accept that. If it were not for Ann, I would live on cornflakes and toast.

I love to cook and still do lots of it today for my fellow. I open the fridge and spice drawer, never know what you will end up with & my saying is " if you like it that's great & if you don't like it don't worry I will never make it again as I don't remember what I put into it". I do lots of Chinese cooking and love to wander up and down the aisles looking for different spices & sauces.
Cinnamon buns with sticky sauce are my very favourites to make & have no problems for takers there. I did not know that Australia has no cinnamon buns, made lots when there with my Neice & gave to the folks around.

That sounds very good, Hermitinthecity. Many people are like that. They enjoy cooking for company. Thanks for responding to my post.

I understand, Robyn. You like to make the people around you happy, by giving them great food. Is the Bob you are referring to, the same Bob who wrote a comment above? I'm still learning who the couples are here. Thanks for your response.

Welcome to my blog, Deb. I see you're a fellow Canadian.
I like your great attitude about cooking. Your cinnamon buns sound delicious. Want to send some to Toronto?

Hot chocolate chip cookies fresh from the oven and homemade bread, who could resist either of those? I know I can't. I'm sure they were wonderful, RosesLady. Thanks so much for your input on this post.

I'm a good cook, well at least no one complains. I don't cook as much as I used too, and only cook the the big meals when I have company coming over. Usually, I have a couple protein shakes a day, breakfast and a salad at night, and some days, I don't even eat that much. Other times, especially during the cold months, I make my stews, soups and chile, and I live on that during the week.

Now do I like to cook? Yes, but I hate the cleaning up part.

Now you sound like my sister. She doesn't mind cooking and does it well. She hates cleaning up so that usually becomes my job. I would starve on what you eat, Rae. Thanks for your comment.

When food is made with a mother's love, how bad could it be? Your kids are probably right and you're probably too hard on yourself. Thanks for responding, Rosie. I liked your post.

No you wouldn't Elaine, lol, I'm not talking dinner salad here, the salads I eat could put the pounds on me if I didn't work it off.
