WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE TYPE OF FOOD?

I am eating Japanese food for dinner. I love Japanese, Chinese and many other types of ethnic foods. After I went to Barcelona in 2014, I had tapas and paella in Toronto. Italian is great too. It all depends on what I am in the mood of eating. The only food I really don't like is Indian food. The naan bread is good but after trying several Indian restaurants, I find it's just not to my liking.

My favorite meal would be having a Greek/Caear salad, a steak and lobster. I'd want delicious warm bread with mushrooms and potatoes to eat with the surf and turf. Cheesecake for dessert would be a bonus. For ethnic food, I would pick Chinese food as my favorite. What about you?

This post has made me hungry.

Not sure if have a favourite food ~very much like variety with a preference for international and fusion cuisine/food; Indian & Middle Eastern in particular with a focus on fresh and healthy. Enjoy vegetarian dishes also.

What's your favorite Spanish food? We went to a fantastic tapas restaurant in Spain. However, tapas are appetizers and one tapas place is not like the next. Thanks Diane.

Thanks for responding to my post, Lilium. I wouldn't mind vegetarian dishes if they would taste good. Any suggestions?

Yes it is. I like it too. The problem is that the restaurant in Toronto where I had it, is very far from me. I wish I knew of a place closer to home where I could have paella. Thanks Diane.

How wonderful for you that you live in Toronto! All the big cities have many 'ethnic' restaurants.

I enjoy a lunch of Lebanese fattoush salad and creamy lentil soup with a side order of kibbe.

My favourite dinners are Ukrainian or German.

Now that I have an allergy to sea food (crustaceans), I'm very careful with oriental dishes, and those from sea coast countries.

Of course, a yummy prime rib or ribeye steak can't be beat!

I quite like pumpkin & spinach lasagne (and mushroom & spinach lasagne) with a side salad. Chick peas with spiced tomatoes (Indian dish) served with basmati rice and simple side dishes I find quite satisfying also.

I wonder what was wrong with that paella in Spain. Oh well. French food is good too. I didn't think about that. Bernaise sauce really adds to a nice steak. French onion soup is magnifique. Thanks for your comment, MySeek.

Rocket, I agree with you. A great ribeye steak or delicious prime rib are wonderful. I just want that lobster with it. Sorry about your allergy.

Are perogies Ukranian? I do like them. I have a feeling that Hungarian and Polish food might be very similiar to Ukranian and German food. I have enjoyed eating Hungarian and Polish cabbage rolls and sausages. Thanks for your comment,

That's true, ET. They even have dim sum which can be tasty, depending where you go. Thanks for your response.

ET, I have wanted to go to a Korean BBQ place but have yet to try Korean food. I will have to look up what Kimchi is. I hope someone can help you out with pickled eggs. I have never cooked them that way.

I am glad you enjoyed this post. I have liked reading the comments like yours. Thank you.

I hope you had a great dinner. Our Japanese food was pretty good. We discovered it after reading our former choice was written up for being filthy. I discussed that in a previous post. Not a wonderful thing to find out.

Sounds good, Lilium. I tend to add mushrooms to many of my meals. Thanks for participating in this post.

Chicken is a staple in my house. I eat that almost daily. Piggly Wiggly? Wasn't that in Laverne and Shirley or another sitcom? Glad you enjoyed your chicken. _JKH54 and thanks for talking about it here.

Betty, I have to admit that I never tasted Filipino Foods. I will have to google those dishes (except spring rolls). Mexican food can be good. We need to find one closer to our house. Sounds like you like spicy foods. It's good to have some extra flavor as long as it's not overpowering. Thanks for your comment.

Good choices, ranger. I would never cook anything that screams either. The lobsters are steamed when we get them. Thanks for your comment.

Hi Elaine....great subject you picked to blog on. I love food of almost anything. Two of my favorites is middle eastern and Mediterranean. I used to eat a lot of sushi but have been right off it so haven't had for quite some time. I like vegetarian and I do cook it quite often. You have to season it well with spices to make it delicious. Once in a while I like some good east Indian curry. It is especially good when served with Naan bread or Chapatis. I see you have latkes as well. I make potato pancakes but they are not quite like latkes.

Yes, latkes and matzo ball soup. I wish I knew how to make a great vegetarian dish. I am a meat lover so if you have a great recipe to share or someone else does, please share it. I like a touch of spicy but not so much that I have to drink a bucket of water, as I have after eating some Indian food. Thanks for sharing what you enjoy, Shartaun03. Make sure you check out the pics I put about the Queen turning 90.
