There is no doubt that news is slanted. There are biases that the media have and their publications or newscasts, clearly show what their attitudes are on a particular topic.

What makes a politician go bad? Who really knows? I think that many do want to make a difference but they may be blocked from others in their party. There are countless other possibilities.

Thanks Nileyears for an interesting post.

They are biased, I won't disagree with you there Elaine, but does it ever make you wonder if the news media does this on purpose? Think about that for a second, could it be a distraction so people argue about several things at once and no one focuses on the most important of the issues? Example: Our Constitution being ripped to shreds!

I think our politicians are mostly bought off, how else do they become so rich once elected?

You're welcome Elaine, glad you enjoyed it.

I have 2 thoughts on why politicians don't deliver.

1. Politicians may be sincere while campaign but underestimate the difficulties and overestimate their abilities when it comes to getting anything done.

2. The media is polarized and slants their reporting in whatever way provides them with the most financial support (corporations)

I still listen and read but look at both sides to see what rings true from my perspective but never read what is re-reported in blogs (talk about polarization). Most does not. As the audience anyone who emotional investment in any topic finds it it impossible to be impartial even if they refuse to admit it.

As for the box, when the expression first became popular it only took one "brainstorming session" at work to realize that in most cases they may be out of the box but they are still in the same warehouse, at the same location, in the same neighborhood.

1. I believe some are sincere when they start out, but somehow as time passes, they become what they were once against.

2. Which tells us that the media is controlled!

I agree with finding it hard to stay impartial, and I love your assessment on the box! So if the neighborhood becomes the box, it's time to move and get a different perspective.

This applies to politicians on both sides of the fence:
The words: POLITICIAN AND HONESTY DO NOT BELONG IN THE SAME SENTENCE!

Alfie...

It only takes a drop of ink to make a million people think. There are many stories.

This is a great blog lady. Now, due to my research the US Supreme Court has ruled that "no knock warrants" are legal! To me this means law enforcement can knock your door down unannounced at anytime.

Now, what the Supreme Court did not address is the assets law enforcement could take from you in the process.

Thank you Silver.

I am so against that ruling! How do we know what is breaking through our door? This not only puts the residents in danger, but also the officers that are breaking in. Another is raiding the wrong house and getting away with it!

I feel like I have moved to a communist country without moving!! Yes, they can take what they want and unless you can prove it's yours, you are SOL.

    Quoting  :

I think "Various subjects" is part of the problem! Does anyone realize how many new laws are created each year? In 2011 they came up with 40,000 new laws to bring in the new year, which was 2012. I remembered that year because the new laws had an effect on my profession. I have not looked at new laws for 2013 and 14, but I'm sure they could be running a close race.

Is there any wonder why we can't stand together on one main subject? We are scattered in so many different directions that it is hard to focus on one cause.

That is why we have to start with our politicians.
