The point of my blog is that paper money will become just that, paper, or as we know it, fiat currency, no value whatsoever. So even a quarter that is junk silver, minted before 1964, will always be worth something, unlike the paper currency we have now that is backed by nothing. So when hyperinflation hits us, exchanging silver and gold would be the way to go, unless we go to a barter system, that would work too.

Point taken, and it just may come to that.

Green eggs, you say? Do you serve ham with those?

Hahaha, I was wondering when someone would make a comment about those green eggs, but they really are green, well, the shell is, the inside looks like any other egg. My Aruacana chickens lay the colorful eggs, from a light green to a blueish green color, even the legs of the Araucana chickens have a dark green color to them, not yellow like my other birds.

Interesting observation. My family and I have always had an ultimate survival plan - go to our remote lake property which we can defend, hunt, fish, use what greens are edible and longer term grow supplements. Just a couple of days ago we were discussing this and were wondering how the majority of younger folks who have no idea how to survive without modern conveniences would do.

On a lighter note they tell me that even when I am not able to do much else they will keep me around as a consultant becasue I lived before and without gadgets and grocery stores.

I have no idea how the younger folk are going to survive without the knowledge of us older folk who have done without all these modern day conveniences. Not going to say I don't like having them, they make life so much easier, but on the other hand, I enjoy being outdoors, camping and cooking over an open fire. I'm not really what some would call a prepper, but if things did get tough, and they have at times, I know I'm not going to starve, my kids also know to come here if things get really bad.

Of course they will keep you around, they would be lost without you!

Nileyears when I was growing up our chickens always ran around outside and then were locked up in the chicken coop so the coyotes didn't get them. Our eggs were always free run but at that time we didn't know it. We ate a lot of eggs and they tasted wonderful compared to these eggs you get in supermarkets that have no taste at all. I have seen them use Araucanas eggs on the food network. I often wondered what kind of chickens they came from. Sorry I kind of got away from the rest of your blog.

That's okay Shar, lol, maybe I should have done a blog on chickens. Coyotes are bad here and they aren't the only critters that go after my birds, but I have seen them near the coup in broad daylight and chased them away. You are so right about the eggs from the grocery stores, they have no taste to them. My grandpa raised the White Leghorns and as a kid I helped in the care of the birds, washing the eggs and packing the eggs in the cartons, then my grandpa and I would take them to town and sell them to a food distributor. I don't watch the food network, but I think that is really cool that they used Araucana eggs.
