The weird things that make us laugh.

Hilarious!!!! Always great to have a good laugh like that.
As for fillers for the planters, tell her to research online. I don't have large ones like that, but I've just bought some succulents and putting them in a planter that has no drainage holes, so was searching for what to put in the bottom to prevent root rot.
Styrofoam can also be used, but the newer kinds are made to break down so they need to be tested to be sure they won't. There are articles about everything online these day!

Thanks for the laugh, Niley. I loved the series Dexter, my son called his cat after him.

Oh yes, I think we both needed a good laugh last night, it was great!

These transformed wood crates are huge! They are 6 feet long, 2 feet wide and about 3 feet deep. She put legs/feet on the bottom of all 4 of them to keep the base off the ground, 2 she made into storage bench seats and the other 2 are for her plants. I was concerned about the foam insulation, that might be toxic to her plants. She decided to get online to see what she could find for drainage. Yep, all kinds of info out there.

No problem Maudie, we all need a good chuckle on occasion, glad you liked it.

I liked that series too. Perfect name for a cat!

That was really nice, Nile. Laughing with children on the phone makes you feel good. I am sure you slept smiling.

We do that often with my children too.

Have a nice day!

I imagine and still am laughing. For big high planters I cover the bottom with broken fragments of ceramic flowerpots or I put a ceramic pot upside down and fill the open areas with gravel, add soil, but don't fill it to the top. After the plant is put in and watered, I cover the soil with mulch and feel happy.

This story reminded me of all the criminals caught on video purchasing the tools used to commit their crimes.

She's a tall blond, not muscled up like a body builder, but in real good shape. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body and wouldn't hurt a fly, but her height intimidates some people. Add the axe, she'd look pretty darn mean! LOL
I'll give her the idea about upside down pots, that might work... the fragments probably wouldn't she would need a lot. The mulch is a great idea too.

Thanks Simplelady. Laughing with my girls always feels good and I did smile about it till I went to sleep and when I woke up.

Our children can bring so much joy. I'm glad you and your children do that too.

Have a wonderful evening.

That is funny.......Axes are scary in an urban setting.....so many horror movies use axes as props.....dripping with gore..........

Years ago, when I was working at a local waterfront resort, I had decided to keep my kayak at the resort for the season so I could go on paddles after work. A friend had helped me move the kayak with his truck, so I had to hitch hike across the island to get home. This was not a problem on a small island, because everyone knows each other...........

When I pulled my kayak ashore and tied it up, there was something heavy sliding around in the bow under the deck. .was my favourite axe.......long and light and sharp and it was getting rusty........So I had to take it home.

I walked up to the main road carrying the axe over my shoulder....as one is wont to do......and I stood there with that axe and stuck out my thumb.........And no one stopped.......I couldn't figure it out.........for way too long.........and then I couldn't stop laughing......I pulled a scarf out of my bag and wrapped it around the head of the axe and held it by the handle and got a ride right away.......I had a laugh with my kids about it when I got home......and many others after that........
Now that's funny and scary!! I can picture cars moving to the other side of the road trying to avoid the axe lady. Good story!

Yep, I was thinking of that too! She had to have that axe for camping, I told her she could always use mine, but no, she wanted her own.
