Repeat woke up at 5AM this morning expecting storms to be here already, and nothing!

So, I check what the local weather man has to say about it, and he says the storm is a couple hours behind schedule and won't hit till around 11AM.

Are they ever correct?

I changed my plan to run to the feed store this afternoon and decided to go there this morning. The feed store doesn't open until 9AM and I'm thinking, "Great, I have a couple hours before the storm hits.

Boy was I wrong! The rain started as soon as I decided to walk out my front door! LOL, so here I am, all dressed up and nowhere to go! Figures, just figures!

On the bright side though, my guitar club is meeting next week and I have most of the day to practice the song picks for the month.

The songs are: Losing My Religion by REM, Things We Said Today by the Beatles, Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison, Heard it in a Love Song by the Marshall Tucker Band, Learning to Fly by Tom Petty, You're the One by Dwight Yoakam and last but not least, You're Going to Miss Me When I'm Gone by Brooks and Dunn.

Years ago, I gave my guitar to my very talented grandson because I didn't play it anymore. It was very difficult for me to push down the strings to get a clear sound due to the arthritis and weakness in my fingers.
A year or so ago, he blessed me with a bit smaller and easier to fret guitar, and I'm ashamed to say that I hardly pick it up. Seems just so much more going on in my life these days and when I zone out, it is usually with just a mind wasting computer game that requires no thinking.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Great selection of songs there Niles. My favourite two are the Beatles and Van the man. Delighted to see him included in your list.

Hope the expected storm doesn't cause any damage.

News flash! It is raining in West, Texas ! Electric has been off for three hours now. The rain is much needed for the creek and stock ponds. Happy days !

You still haven't picked up your gift? I thought you'd be playing like crazy by now.

Yep, I know about the arthritis in the hands, so far mine isn't too bad, but I have those days where my index finger on my fretting hand bothers me and it's hard to make a barr chord, but I play through, not going to give up something I enjoy doing. My pick hand, my thumb joint gives out and I find the pick will start to slip on those days. I'm just hoping my hands don't decide to fall apart next week, but the weather is getting warmer and I find my fingers don't bother me as much.

Thanks Maudie!

I picked the Beatles song! The group decides all the songs for the month and each member will submit a song they like to play. Each session we add another tune, or two to the list for the next meet up. Can't wait to find out what it, or those are. I like Van also, I have always loved his music.

Just got rain here, nothing like the storm center was predicting. East of me? Lots of rain and they are under a tornado watch now. I'll be heading out to the feed store in a few minutes.

We do need the rain here. I was getting worried that we were heading for another drought. Our rainy season seems to be running a little late this year.

I didn't lose my power this time, but as usual, I lost my internet connection, but it came back on within an hour.

We were supposed to get rain last night too, but it never happened. For the past few days we were told Wednesday night would be severe storms, but got nothing! Now some areas in north Texas got pounded and a few tornadoes, but Oklahoma got the worst of those storms.

Well, we got some rain and now the sun is shining. It's a good day!
