They love peanut butter, more than cheese!

I get mice in the house this time of year, they are looking for a warm place to stay for the approaching winter, but never have they gone into my trucks until now.

I don't show anyone the carcasses, they get dumped in an outside bin.

At one time we used to have a lot of rats down at the beach. The coyotes were great for getting rid of them. Speaking of coyotes two people were arrested for feeding the coyotes in Stanley Park. This happened a year ago.

Nileyears replies on 10/3/2022 7:42 am:
The coyotes here are too busy killing livestock and small pets, rodents are probably just a quick snack for them.

Why would anyone want to feed a coyote?

Niles stinky reminds me of two guys I knew many years ago. They were best friends and enjoyed playing wild jokes on each other.

One of them bought and installed a big new swamp cooler air conditioner for his home. It was a long hot summer. He and his wife went on their annual two week vacation and asked the other guy to look after their place in their absence.

Soon after they left out the other guy went fishing -------caught a bunch of perch and decided how funny it would be if he put then into the water of his friends swamp cooler. LOL

Of course the fish died in the summer heated water and remained there for almost two weeks. LOL

When they arrived home from vacation the first thing they did was rush inside and flip the switch turning the swamp cooler on. STINKY DELUXE. LOL

The guy with the fish smelling house returned the bad joke the next spring. The fish jokester & his wife had a new home built. He was bragging about what a nice yard he had planned. He bought a tiller and prepared it to perfection and seeded it with Bermuda grass seed. Fertilized and began watering it every day.
While they were out of town the other guy went over there and scattered a huge amount of turnip seed all over the yard.
AS a result they had the best yard of turnips in the neighborhood. LOL!

Kill rats with Coca Cola.
They will drink a lot of it but they can not belch.

Nileyears replies on 10/3/2022 7:49 am:
Ok, but where do they die? Will they wander off and die somewhere I can't get to them? That's why I stopped using poison.

That must be very annoying for you, Niles. Hope you get to the bottom of that stinky smell .

Nileyears replies on 10/3/2022 7:53 am:
It is Maudie, very annoying. The smell is coming from the backseat of the truck. When it happened, it stunk the whole truck up, so had no idea where it was coming from. Probably going to have to tear the backseat out to find it.

Oh dear~~~ amp; amp;

I assume that you've taken out and cleaned the in cabin air filter too??

Good luck!!!

Nileyears replies on 10/3/2022 7:58 am:
The air coming out of the vents is fine, doesn't stink and I won't use the cab circulation to avoid the smell going into the filter system. Like I told Maudie, the smell seems to be in the backseat area of the truck, so I might have to tear out the backseat to find it.

NILE SPRAY VINEGAR UNDER AND DOWN SEAT BACK. IT IS MASK THE SMELL TILLTHE SOURCE ROTS AWAY

THE DAYS WILL END ... TIME WILL BE ETERNAL

Nileyears replies on 10/3/2022 10:46 am:
The smell isn't as bad as it was, though I can still smell it. Vinegar would smell worse than what is left of the rodent.

What really is sad? I've kept that truck smelling new for almost 9 years now, it doesn't even have 23,000 miles on it yet, still looks brand new.

One morning I found a mouse in the dishwasher, another day I found one in the dogs water dish!! We set traps with poison in them where the mouse goes in, eats the poison and goes off somewhere to die. I couldnt watch a dying mouse!!

Nileyears replies on 10/4/2022 4:39 am:
I used to use poison, but stopped when I was finding dead mice in places like the back of my closet, or under the couch, but the last place I thought I would find a mouse was in my boot! Climbed in there and died! Nothing like putting your foot in a boot and feeling it with your toes! I dumped the boot and the mouse fell out, haven't used poison since!

The traps I use are instant, no sticky traps, I don't have to watch them die.
