Why can't the temps just stay in the 50's for winter? I can handle that!

We'll have below freezing nights T/F/S...not much, if any, precipitation.

Hopefully the 'grid' will be able to handle the massive increase in power usuage.

We aren't supposed to get any precipitation where I am and according to the weatherman we don't have to worry about the wind turbines freezing up because it will be dry. Unlike a couple years ago when we lost wind power due to ice and freezing rain.

We have had some snow and frost and very cold weather here in Ireland the last week or so. Snow and frost is gone but still very cold.

Hard work, Niles, having to brave all weather conditions to look after the animals. My sister was telling me about the trouble they had getting water to the cows when all the pipes were frozen.

We get snow and ice storms here, but not usual in December, February seems to be the popular month for that kind of weather. We are actually below our normal temps for December, but every once in awhile we get the colder stuff.

I have five gallon buckets I fill with water to bring to the horses when everything freezes solid, but this arctic blast will only last three days, so hopefully breaking the ice will be all I have to do.

I've seen snow twice in my life, didnt like it either time. It was 37C the other day (100F). Never had 'a white Christmas', Christmas is beer weather here.

Hope you got some firewood handy.

Judgment Day will be interesting - and all paths lead there.

I've seen a lot of snow in my life, I used to snow ski up in Aspen, CO., but those days are way in the past. I'd spend a week up there and then fly home. The good old days!

It does snow here on occasion, and once in awhile we get ice storms. I can only think of it snowing once at Christmas, but that was when I was in my 20's, 1974, 75? But it wasn't much and it was gone the same day.

Last Christmas it was 82F here.
