Seems to me the big difference is that none of the others were ever chattels.
Many of the Irish came as indentured servants, and treated like slaves. Others were put in interment camps during the war.
They all faced very adverse conditions when they came to this country. But none of those living today were part of that, but only one group wants to scream about it and believes they are entitled because of what their ancestors suffered. Oh, and some of those screaming the loudest didn't even have any ancestors that went through it, their ancestors came much later.

So when did the Irish get the vote? And when were they allowed to choose what schools they could go to? And what year were they get permission to eat in the same restaurants, drink at the same water fountains, sleep in the same hotels, use the same gas stations as white folks? The effects of slavery are generational......families were separated by force and not allowed to learn to read and write.......then there was all the racism that prevented Black people from owning homes and businesses........These scars don't just evaporate......We were alive in 1964........That's our generation......

Sparklefit , a wise comment. Thank you. You put in far more effort than this group is worth.

I read this blog earlier and my thinking is … what time do the computers come on in the nuthouse ….

    - Irish were put into interment camps? News to me.
    - Indentured service is not slavery. It comes to an end at some point.
Nor was it only Irish who were indentured.
Indentured service existed in North America until quite recently.
In Canada orphaned children were sent to Canadian farmers to work.
They tended to stay with them until their late teens.
No, I said "others" were put in internment camps..... Japanese, Germans, and Italians.
