You need to think back of when and where you used your card, and maybe contact those places and tell them that your card had been compromised. We used to use our debit card when we traveled, and Joe's was compromised one time.
We found out by checking our bank when we got home, and saw a strange charge from a company in Hartford, Conn. I called, and it was an online order for a pair of sunglasses, but they hadn't completed it because the address to ship to wasn't complete. Our bank did as yours, cancelled number and reissued.
We racked our brains trying to figure where it could have happened. I contacted the two motels where we had stayed, and of course they didn't think it had been anyone there, and since they were both where we stayed frequently, we didn't think it was, but wanted them to be aware.
We figured it was one of the places where we had eaten. Sadly, a couple of months later, when we were back in Nashville, we found out that one of the regular waitress where we always went had been fired for "playing loose with customer's credit cards"!
From then on, we do not hand our card to anyone if we aren't right there to see the transaction.
Folks should check their accounts frequently and not just wait for the statements. Oh, and we got a credit card to use when we travel, so nobody can drain our bank account.

I had a guy call me a couple months ago saying he had my number on caller ID, but said the caller 'from my number' was somebody totally different. He said he was calling to check my number and we had a nice conversation. I was glad he called. I don't answer anything from my area code now unless its in my contacts.

Have heard nothing about Maisie, except what SC wrote in her blog saying she had heard from him on her blog, but of course it was conveniently deleted, so I doubt it happened.
I did see that Liszt had made a comment yesterday and early this morning on Bigblock's blog, but nothing about Maisie.

A few weeks ago, I missed a call from a local cell phone number. Normally, I would ignore it, but I was expecting a call from a person that I did not know her number, so I thought it was her.
I returned the call, and the man who answered was very nice, but he said he had been getting several calls from people who said they had a call from his number. Scammers are somehow using active phone numbers! He cautioned me about giving any information to them, and to not answer any questions in the affirmative. I already knew that, but thanked him for the advice.
A couple of folks on face book have said they even got a scammer call from their OWN number!

When I get gas at the pump, I look for the store's seal across the little door on the pump..... and I hit the clear button several times after I get my receipt. It's getting so bad, that I have really considered always going inside to pay, but a lot of the time, they want you to pay first in that case, and I like to fill the car up each time so I don't know how much it will take. And that's two trips inside. Good exercise for me, I know.... but I'm lazy.

Scoot over, I'll join you on that soapbox..... lol. So many strides have been made, and are being made all the time in the care and treatment of stroke patients. (and other conditions) Many, who 20 years ago would have died, not only live today, but return to physically active lives.
I just chuckled to myself, because Liszt is very intelligent and perfectly capable of doing the research and asking the right questions of the doctors and rehab specialists. I just hope he has some good emotional support because a person can get exhausted and then the "what ifs" start crowding into your thoughts.
As for those "zingers", just consider the source, eh? Kind of sad.

Turn it in to the police and alert the three credit reporting agencies-----they will place an alert which will prevent anyone from opening a new account in your
name. The credit reporting companies must have the police report.

I had a similar experience with stolen ID. Accounts set up in my company name at a computer manufacturer, a cell phone carrier, and a freight carrier. Over 10K in charges.

The weird thing was----the computer company and the police would not tell me what merchandise was ordered or where it was shipped.
The police did call later & ask if I knew anyone in Houston------The ex drug head step son lives there and obviously had a way to know private information.
I had to hire an attorney to take care of three collection agencies.

Be sure to alert the police & credit report agencies or you can be battling bill collectors (months or years) down the road over something you didn't receive or order. LOL

I think it was an inside job but I could be suspecting the innocent.
I am just happy it is over.

The culprit will live near the ship to address so he can observe delivery and pick up the package as soon as it is delivered.-----before the property owner arrives.

The culprit most likely works at one of the places where you used the emergency card -----obviously near you and the send to address.

You can go online to the county tax appraisal district and get names of homeowners adjacent to the delivery address-----They would be able to see when delivery was made.-----If any of those names work where you used the emergency card you have a suspect. But don't go over & shoot him. LOL

Kindly delete my comments on this blog I suffered a moment of weakness and should have known better.

You deleted my reply to buddy Block insulting me in your other blog. ---And left his insult up.

Please block me from future comments in case I forget and try to post on one of your blogs again. Although it is highly unlikely. I seldom forget. LOL
