As a mom, I got cards from all my kids, when they were little...... but not anymore.
As a wife, I got a card from my husband..... LOL, but not anymore. Joe isn't really able to get out and shop like he used to, and we have just done away with cards and gifts. Sometimes, we go out to eat to celebrate a special occasion, but we do that frequently enough that it isn't even "special" any more.
Sheesh, I think I am getting old!

When I first met Grumpy, I sent him Valentines Cards and even flowers every day for the week of Valentines. He was an electrician so all his co-workers in maintence would tease him. I did the same for him on St. Patrick's Day because of his Irish heritage. He never sent me valentines but he did bring in black flowers and balloons for my 40th birthday.

One Christmas, we were Christmas shopping together and he subtlety picked out a pendant for me. I had been admiring the same one earlier but in a different color and talking to the shop owner about it. She switched out the pendant and gave him the one with the color that I wanted.
