That sounds lovely......I'm a real stick-in-the-mud....I was uprooted as a child and vowed to stay put forever......These photos represent my sense of place....

I wish I had a camera for nice close-ups like yours. I love the budding photographer.
Winter just walked in yesterday. We got plenty of snow on the door steps and around. Today's sunshine melted most of it, but the temperature was 0 C all day.

I went to my favourite photo-shop and told them what I wanted. I have become friends with one of the technicians and we share some of our photos....He has mastered photo-shop and using it in interesting ways that I haven't seen anyone else do. He takes photos of insects.....amazing clarity and detail and superimposes architectural and engineering components ...very subtle and beautiful....maybe a hint of Steam-Punk/ Industrial Revolution styling.....My favourite is a grasshopper that looks like a sculpture, where the insect and the Humans have switched size.....

Lucky you to know some technician who can teach you. I only have a canon, and when I zoom, the photos are blurred. I would like close-ups of the different colorful birds that pick the seeds I put out on the small deck of my kitchen.

These photos were taken with a tiny Olympus......You need a different lens for long-distance photography than for close-ups....the opposite.....Maybe you can use an exterior lens......you can find out on line and maybe find what you need second-hand on line. People are always buying new equipment....
