SPRING BREEZE......
What a lovely Sunday.....I opened all the windows and doors and let the breeze blow through my house for several hours this sunny afternoon......I hear the creek running and the frogs and Robins singing.......my 's cat came for a visit as she always does when I leave my door open.....sweet kitty....There are buds on the bushes and catkins unfurling in the sun..........

 It sounds like you have enjoyed your day like I did mine on Thursday. It's so good for the mind and emotions. What are those pink flowers? They look a lot like Hollyhocks, but ours won't be in bloom for quite awhile.
Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

The pink flowers are Salmonberry .....always our first wild flowers in the spring here. My daughter was born on March 9th and when she was only a few days old, I put her in a front sling-type carrier and went for a walk. The unfurling Salmonberry flowers looked like her the first time I saw her and the uncoiling Bracken ferns looked like her unfurling fingers, so I named her Fern.....not the only reason, but.....I had a lovely friend on Haida Gwaii named Fern and another friend whose who often tied his sailboat at our dock for weeks at a time....he played the guitar and sang beautifully, he was our boat-building apprentice....his family owned a quarry in Arkansas and he was brought up by his grandmother who was named Fern. My favourite of his songs was about her. How did a man from Arkansas end up building wooden sailboats on the West Coast of Canada?

He never told told us that story.......Oh, and then there is Charlotte's friend Fern.....

My Fern insists she doesn't have a nostalgic bone in her body...I won't be here when she turns 70, but then she will remember my waxing poetic over my past and she will be amazed at how alike we are in sentimentality.....

Oh, by the way, the Salmonberry is a tall bush....taller than us.

I see what you mean......colours by Vermeer.....I haven't painted a still=life since school, but I do love to set them up and sometimes photograph them......I think I will post some...thank you, your comments are always so pithy.
