SHE'S AT IT AGAIN......

Mother Nature, that is......The garden is coming along......The strawberry beds are all cleaned out and ready for their mulch, the Sunflowers, Garlic, Sweet-Peas, Delphiniums, Onion sets, Potatoes.....all out of the ground and heading for the sky.

The fruit trees are all in blossom, the apples just opening.......and there are tender green leaves running riot all over creation......bountiful Earth....

The little house is for my grandaughter.....her Dad's work is shut down so he built her a She-Shack.....

Today's walk

For some crazy unknown reason, your blog brought tears to my eyes. I would so love to walk that walk with you..... I can feel the fresh air and smell that new scent of spring. And I so envy your grand daughter's she shack.
I once had a little room, a part of a small shed where my folks stored yard tools, that I was allowed to decorate and use as my playhouse. It was my own little haven, until I had to give it up when we moved.
Thank you for sharing this part of your world with me..... well, with us. I guess if you shared it, I have to share it with others too, eh?

I'm loving it Sparkle! Everything is beautiful, green and growing again and I am feeling more energised. The blue tits have nested again above my window and I love watching their frantic efforts to feed their brood! I want to go here, there and everywhere but I can't so I'm spring cleaning my flat 15 minutes at a time...slowly but surely, but at least it's a start! Haven't seen my family since before Christmas since I'm one of the many "shielded" people. Can't leave the house apart from going into the garden for an hour a day. I feel very fortunate to have a garden to sit in! I feel fortunate to be alive, and have very much enjoyed this beautiful and inspiring blog, thank you.

How beautiful it is. I envy you all that wonderful space . I just live a five minute walk from the Phoenix Park, but because of the restrictions I have to stay put. At least I have a garden to enjoy, small but big enough for me to potter around in. My daily walks are up and down the back lane , better than nothing I guess.

I love the cute little She-Shack, lucky granddaughter

Lovely pictures Sparkle. I have one lone strawberry plant left over from last summer. It got green again this spring and is doing quite well. It has flowers on it so guess I should have some strawberries again. I only bought one plant as I really don't have a proper place for strawberries. So it was sort of an experiment when I bought it last year.

Thanks for the lovely pictures and reminders of the beautiful place where you live. Spending more time at home instead of rushing off to various activities gives me more time to appreciate what’s blooming here, too: lilacs, azaleas, dogwoods and the beginnings of rhododendron blossoms. Spring seems to be slower and cooler, and I’m totally fine with that.

Your environment looks untouched and peaceful. If I were a child that She-Shack would be my castle. I used to create my shelter under a table in the corner, bath towels hanging down made it my private area. LOL My mother first protested me using the towels but then gave in. Thanks for sharing your Nature. Sparkle!

The first part of April was dry ......not much greening going on in the forest, then, last week it rained and everything greened up and lush almost overnight. I also had a renovated tool-shed as a playhouse......pretending I was Pippi Longstocking....Thee was one window facing South. I planted sweet-peas under it, put little nails above it and at the bottom of the wall and tied rows of string to them and the flowers grew right over the window......When I opened the window the breeze wafted in the sweet scent of the flowers.....

I "see" my family almost every day, but at a 2 meter distance. Both my children are still working, my daughter in health care and my son in the food industry. Our parks are closed too......We have a sea-side park that is the heart of the community that is closed, as are the pars that enclose our lake system.....My walks are restricted too......but we have this property and the forest.

Thanks for your comment........Yes, she now has a she-shack and no one to share it with......her parents have set up a supervised "Messenger" account for her so she can communicate with her friends....and her Nana .....Her best friend just got back from sailing around the world for 2 years with her family....2 years is a long time at their age. They were so excited to see each other again, to hug and to have sleep-overs with their friends.......and then they had to suddenly cut their plans short and fly home. They self-quarantined for 2 weeks and by that time we were all locked down.......So now they chat on Messenger, again.....They have amazing typing skills though........I message with her too....mostly she sends me a lot of gifs and emoticons......

You reminded me of the ever-bearing strawberry plants I grew for my children when they were toddlers......They are so curious and enthusiastic and ultimately destructive, but they had to learn how to treat the plants and I did not have time to garden unless they were with me. I had a hammock in the garden when they were babies and tied a long string to it so I could rock them to sleep while working, but they soon grew out of that and the next thing I tried was a playpen, but they never liked that.....they wanted out and about......' helping." I designated whole beds of carrots and snap peas to children......But the favourite was the strawberries......there is an age where they are so strong, but incapable of understanding restraint.

I discovered these everbearing strawberries. The plants are tall, like a little tree, with layers of branches and small berries that ripen all Summer......They loved those plants.....as soon as we got in the garden, they would run to those plants and search for red berries.........

Interesting Sparkle...Last year the strawberry plant did not grow so tall. It seems to be stretching up so not sure how tall it will get. It also cut runners on it and of course being confined to a pot no place for the runners to dig inn...
