Every day there are at least 9 Marbella posts on the front page.....Sometimes I'm curious as to what she (or rather the service she uses) is saying.......Why not?.....That's why we post blogs on this site.....for others to read.....You are not the first person on this site who has admonished me for having intellectual curiosity......You discredit what people say on this site all the time.....in fact, that's what you're doing here.......Why are you reading my blog? You're paying more attention to me than I'm paying to you.......and I'm not being personally inimical to you in this blog.

It's very weird how Christians think that their beliefs, no matter how nonsensical , illogical or damaging, should be considered sacrosanct by those who disagree with them.......Why should religious ideas be treated any differently than political ideas?

It would be nice to see comments on the message rather than a personal hit job.
Anything that can not be explained is BS.

You have never treated religious ideas differently than political ideas?......Yet you have slammed other's political beliefs for not coinciding with your own......in fact, here you are,, slamming me for my religious beliefs, though you don't even allow me to comment on or even read your blogs. Your hypocrisy, as usual, is spectacular.......

If you actually treat religious ideas the same as political ideas, why aren't you commenting on the content of this blog rather than admonishing me for posting about religion?

FOR PEACE OF MIND, I FIND IT SIMPLE JUST TO AVOID READING CERTAIN BLOGS, ESPECIALLY THE ONES OF A RELIGIOUS NATURE. I KNOW I WOULD DISAGREE WITH MOST OF THEM AND GET VERY IRRITATED. WHY BOTHER?

Interesting, isn't it, how Americans are so afraid of religion.......Why is that? I post a blog disagreeing with the content of another blog.......something people do every day on this site.....Why is this one different?.....The only difference is that this blog is about Religion......I ask Bob why Religious blogs are treated differently than Political blogs......Bob answers that he treats them the same.......That's not true, because he doesn't admonish people for disagreeing with political blogs......yet he doesn't recognize his own actions.......Why?....

This has been the attitude the whole time I've been on this site....It's not how Canadians or Europeans respond to religious topics.....Americans act as if Religion is sacrosanct, yet they won't acknowledge their attitude....It's like they are so deeply programmed that they can't see it.........

Even people who claim to be non-religious are weirdly protective of Religion in the US.....

I'm not sure which blog of Marbella's you're referring to but when one's religious beliefs are attacked and/or mocked, it's understandable to be met by a wall of silence/of not wanting to be drawn into a battle. An open minded, respectful approach with preconceptions temporarily set aside for the purpose of opening up meaningful dialogue would, I think, contribute towards further understanding and tolerance. As Ayla states [ordained Dominican-Catholic priest who opted to study genetics and evolution which led to career as academic scientist], science and religion are two different windows through which we see the world: “Suppose I give you an exact physical description of a painting,” he said. “The physical description does not answer questions [about the aesthetics or meaning]. It has to be answered a different way […] the physical description is like science and the meaning and purpose of the painting is like religion.” For Ayala, science and God cannot stand as substitutes for each other. “When some scientists come to the conclusion that science is contrary to the existence of God, that's when conflict arises,” he said. One such scientist is British evolutionary biologist Richard Dawkins, with whom Ayala has been friends for nearly three decades. “While [Dawkins] argues that science cannot demonstrate the existence of God, and I agree […], he should agree that science cannot prove that God does not exist,” Ayala explained. “Science has nothing to do with the supernatural.”

Thank you for replying with substance. The Marbella blog I was referring to is "Nice Shot?"

I know Richard Dawkins very well and have read many of his books. This blog isn't refuting the existence of God.....I don't know how you got that idea......Marbella's blog claims that killing all the first born children of every family in a whole nation is an act of love.......That's what I'm refuting......
