I checked out a site Q-Anon briefly. They got weird really fast thinking that hurricanes were manufactured government conspiracies. They definitely keep company in the cuckoo's nest.
Yeah....But I'm not satisfied with just labeling people "nuts" and dismissing them....I don't think most of them have an innate mental disability any more than those who believe in a God and all the trappings of religion.......They are regular Humans who have fallen down a bore-bole and I'm interested in how they got there......There are even elected members in the US government who are Q-anon believers......
Anyways, this article is the first cogent explanation I have come across and I think it's a good beginning........

Thank you for posting the title of the article and the author, Sparkleflit. After having caught only a few minutes of an interview with the author I have been wanting more info. One of the people on my FB friends list is a Q-Anon supporter and I have watched her posts become stranger and stranger over the past few months. I would be more worried about her but I know she's surrounded by people who are not conspiracy theorists and I'm confident that they'll jump in to help her if things get worse. I think of myself as a student of human behavior and I've been watching her posts, trying to understand what could cause an intelligent person to go so far off the rails. I recently read with interest many articles on how people succumb to conspiracy theory, so I know I'll enjoy reading the article you mentioned.

In addition to wanting to understand more about how people fall into the Q-Anon trap I also wanted to know more about Q-Anon itself. What could be the attraction? I had difficulty finding info until just yesterday the FB friend I mentioned posted an article called "Ode to the Corporation". It's crazy and rambling but I think it does touch on many of Q-Anon's beliefs. If you're interested you can probably find it by googling but I'd suggest caution when clicking because I cannot speak to the safety of the websites that would carry such weird stuff.

A day without dance is .... just kidding. I have no idea!

Many of the rioters are Q-Anon followers.
They actually believed the election would be thrown out.

That is so absurd-------the whole U.S. military would prevent it.
The National Guard we are seeing now is penny anti stuff to what
could be on the street.

Good people have lost their sense of reason or reality. They have obsessive need to believe & follow blindly.

Next thing you hear they will think a virgin can have a baby.
They will believe anything!
Party On!

I know wht you mean about being cautious in researching Q-anon.....I think for now I will stay out of their sites and explore the information I can find about it.....I'd rather visit a bear's den than a Q-anon site.
