My brother was the provincial gymnastics champion when he was in high school.....the year after he won, his coach thought he should specialize in trampoline.....he started training 4 hours a day ..........just before the big provincial meet, he was up to 6 hours.....then he started having excruciating pains, but his coach coerced him into going to the competition, he even phoned our family doctor to convince him to give my brother pain meds. My brother didn't make it to the championship meet......He collapsed and was rushed to the hospital.....turned out his organs, especially his liver, had been shaken and torn out of place by all that bouncing........High school and college gymnastics is brutal.
