I hope your absence was because you have just been busy with other things. I'm enjoying these pictures, and that path in the first one looks packed enough that I could even possible walk on it.
I had to look up the term, and it is quite descriptive and refreshing in this crazy busy world in which we live. I used to love walking in the timber and just listening to the sounds and enjoying the sights and the smells.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Either wandering or lost in the jungle
Did you watch "Lost"?.....Someone put together a reel of all the scenes where they were running through the jungle.....It was several hours long......

There was a Grizzly bear wandering the island for weeks.....He didn't belong here, he was a 2 year old male, kicked out of his territory by the patriarch.......He swam over......This is not his natural habitat, the small islands don't have the food resources they need. One day some friends of mine were having a BBQ and a Grizzly wandered by and they took a photo and posted it on a community site......Someone called Wildlife Management and they came over with a trap so they could transfer him.......I was feeling kind of nervous about going in the forest trails.....you don't want to startle a Grizzly......I've met Black Bears in the forest here.......They often swim over during fruit season and get to shaking the fruit trees and then leave again.......A couple of year ago there was one at the winery that wouldn't take the bait in the live-cage for a week.......Why would he when there were acres of sweet grapes.....

Anyways, that Grizz wouldn't take the bait in the cage for a week or so, and he kept killing livestock, so Wildlife Management shot him........I guess they can only spend so much time and money on saving a bear......Govmint money...........Very sad, but I feel more comfortable in the forest without him there.....

VERY EXOTIC PHOTOS, TOO MUCH FOR ME BUT VERY INTERESTING. OUR PROBLEM IS WOLVES, THEY EAT THE SHEEP AND ARE GETTING CLOSER AND CLOSER TO TOWNS. WE ALREADY HAVE WILD PIGS IN GARDENS NEAR THE SEA AND WONDER WHAT IS COMING NEXT.

So far we've not had any bears make the swim to Whidbey Island. We do have a lone elk that "elk paddled" his way to the island. He seems happy enough considering he has no mate or buddies. I suppose he could swim back if he wanted.

Yup, that' what happens when Humans encroach on the territories of wild animals......Exotic photos? Too much for you?......They are only snapshot of what I see in the forest ten minutes from my house.

Do they even get horny when there is no female Elk around leaking joy juice?......I doubt if they think...."Oh, I'm feeling so lonely, I really miss my family and would like a beautiful female Elk to make passionate love to....." And raise some little Elks and teach them how to swim......There are till Humans on this planet who think that there aren't enough Humans yet.....
