That rock-face in the background has wild roses growing in the cracks and when they are in bloom and the tide is out.......it's a shallow beach that stretches very far and the smell of the exposed sea-weed mixed with wild roses, smells like home to me........Around the corner, is a limestone mine shaft that runs horizontally into the bluff......It is about 100 year old and goes far enough in that it is completely dark at the end....... otter live there and at the right stage of the tide, you can glide into the cave in a kayak.........not enough room to paddle, but if you make a run for it, you can float right to the end and walk yourself back out by pushing with your hands against the cave walls..........The acoustics are great......I once played my silver flute in there.........like a Paul Horn wannabe....

I've done both too and definitely prefer the silence and grace of a sailboat......I also like the work of sailing on a bare bones wooden boat.....as opposed to just sitting on a bike.......
