HORSES......

So yesterday, I was walking down the road to the nature preserve/park where I walk most days....I time my walks so they are between the ferry traffic rushes, so there was virtually no traffic.....There was a few raindrops, the sun trying to shine......and my mind shifted into a childhood reverie......daydreaming while walking is one of my favourite pastimes these days...........

Then I realized what my reverie was triggered by.......I tuned in to a sound getting more distinct, closer, louder behind me.......I turned around and it was true.....it was the sound of horse hooves on the round.......8 horse hooves moving rhythmically........I stopped and turned and watched the rig approach.....It was a large, flat wooden wagon with a raised box seat with 2 young men......pulled by two brown work-horses with blonde tails and manes. They were decked out with gorgeous leather harnesses studded with shining metal......As they approached they halted the rig and the horses stomped the ground and snorted and tossed their manes and tails.....I was spellbound. The men asked me if I wanted a ride, but I declined, not knowing where they were headed.........As they carried on their way , I was moved to tears........for the beauty of the horses and the scene........

Then, when they approached the driveway into the park, they turned in and disappeared behind the trees. When I got there, they were nowhere to be seen.....and had left no mark of their passing........I walked down the only road, which goes to the Daycare, but there was no sign there either......The main trail that goes across the island was wide enough for the rig.....but the approach from the parking lot isn't.....There are boulders the size of easy chairs blocking vehicles.......There is one approach, but it has a chain across it.....I took a look and it has a big padlock on it.....I know that area really well.....it's not paved and heavy horses would surely have made imprints....as well as that wagon.....nothing.....maybe a bit of moss here and a broken twig there, but that rig disappeared.......

When I was heading home, I saw a friend in the parking lot doing her cool-down stretches after her run. I asked her if she had seen the horse rig and she said she had jogged the full length of the main trail and hadn't seen them....she also had her dog with her and he would have been very distracted by the smell of horses, but he didn't show any signs of smelling something unusual.......Very mysterious.

when I was growing up we had horses. Dad use to drag out logs with them. occasionally he would put us up on their back and we would ride out. to the landing. We also got to ride on the hay wagon in the summer. I kind of miss those times with my Dad.

Very interesting for sure -

Horses seem almost mythical-like creatures. When a teenager, I would sometimes drift into a reverie where my friend Pegasus would appear outside the classroom window and we would fly high among the clouds - so exhilarating and a welcome escape from an unpleasant English teacher who loved bringing me back to the present. He was a bit of a jerk and my 'switching off' obviously rankled. Thankfully, I only had him for one year which was a year too long.

Brown horses symbolize stability and comfort
Man is dominant male figure/ childhood anxiety
Wagon refers to respect, sincerity, and humility

Sometime a miracle of coincidence can lead the inevitable to come to pass.
As a lover of horses and an owner of one, all I can say if you have the opportunity to be with horses it will change your life.
Follow your intuition and the horses meaning and lessons will appear.

" The winds of heaven blow between the ears of a horse"

My horse Sieggie is now too old to ride but he gets walked along the fencerow to chow the fresh grass along the creek. Goldie is JD's workhorse for cutting cattle. We are looking for a pony to get trained since loosing our two beloved Geldings. who are buried on the hill with out dogs and cats.
So sweet......

That reminds me of a wonderful book I read in the 1980s, called "Winter's Tale" by Mike Halprin......I loved that book.....I read it when I was travelling by bus....I had run away from my husband and kids for a week......

DO YOU THINK YOU HAD A DREAM? WE HAVE HORSE-DRAWN RIGS AND EVEN HORSES WITH RIDERS FOR SOME CEREMONIES AND TRADITIONAL FESTIVITIES EVEN RIGHT IN TOWN. I HOPE YOU GET TO KNOW WHAT IT WAS REALLY ALL ABOUT.

Many things in life are unexplainable. It sounds like a wonderful experience, but mysterious and a bit unsettling.

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

There was a few seconds where I thought I might be dreaming....It kind of reminded me of when I worked in a big historical movie production and I would spend hours in hair and makeup, sometimes nodding off in the chair, then being sent off into the woods where an ancient village was set up with people in costumes, buildings, horses and monsters.........
