What a gift the internet is.......For curious person, it's a dream come true.......It can also be a nightmare, it depends on how we use it......It's the ideal tool for an old person.....A library and travelogue at our fingertips.......

I could not have dreamed of such a luxury as I sat with my sisters listening to the radio, listening to people tell stories of their travels to far away exotic places..........Or as I leafed through encyclopedias and natural history books of photos...........I could not have envisioned this magic book I type at now, with colored, moving illustrations of anything my vast curiosity longs to know........I am so grateful to have lived long enough for this marvelous tool.......

I agree Spark..its a Blessing and can be a curse. It opens up sooooo much of the world for us. There can be glitches in technology, of course....but it also makes the world braver to those keyboard thugs. Something about anonymous talking enhances the good in us....or the bad. Overall though, i think it can be a most positive connection to more far reaching people/places~

RIGHT SPARKLE. BUT WE HAVE TO BE VERY CAREFUL ABOUT WHAT WE READ ON THE NET, WE NEED ALL OUR GOOD SENSE TO FIND THE HALF TRUTHS AND DOWNRIGHT LIES.
I HAVE ALWAYS FIGURED WE NEED AT LEAST ONE NEW FACT A DAY TO KEEP GOING MENTALLY. SO FAR, SO GOOD.

True I enjoy mine as well. I enjoy making friends. Seeing so many beautiful places, sharing funny jokes, sharing beautiful memories and so on.
Worries me about how many people use it to scam older folks ( or younger ), for bad situations. I kind of think that the younger people today r really missing out on all the great experiences of what we had

I remember what I was thinking about the internet when it was just starting......I didn't foresee many of the downsides we are experiencing.....but I also didn't foresee many of the advantages......like medical help online......

Yup....in some ways it's still like the wild west , but we're learning as we go along......I suspect that the future holds some big shifts in civilization......like the back-to-the-land movements of the 60's...The internet has opened a lot of employment possibilities and other shifts because of the end of the personal gas-fueled car, the re-distribution of populations due to shifting priorities......So many changes, but Humans will still continue to live meaningful lives......

One fact a day keeps the brain-rot at bay?........And I agree about being careful about what we read on the internet, but I trust my homesteader's practical mind to distinguish .......

My daughter took the photo last Winter when we were out hiking on a bluff above the ocean....a cold and blustery day......we could hear the sea-lions honking and the surf crashing......

I'm fine thank you, Sparkle. Out and about as often as I can. We are having nice sunny weather here at the moment, makes all of the difference 🌞. International travel is back to normal here .and people are taken advantage of that ,making up for lost time I guess.

Love your new photo, really nice.

I am constantly amazed at the vast amount of information available at our fingertips now!!

I remember [not fondly] trying to research subjects at the library, and how frustrating that was.

I'm sure that I use Google at least a couple of times a day.... I'm a curious kind of gal...
What an awesome world the internet has opened up for all of us!

Of course instant communication and actual 'face to face' chat with family and friends anywhere in the world is just the greatest!!

OMG I love my google map app !!!!! I am the getting lost queen, and will pull over and cry my eyes out. I did that in New York, NY once. And when I gathered some composure again drove the wrong way on streets to get the heck out of there ! LOL

The thing I like best about the internet is meeting people of different cultures that I normally would not have met. The downside is there is less in person human interaction than we had growing up. Nothing is perfect but yes I can't imagine life without my computer.

I couldn't agree more. I often think about my long, long list of things I want to learn. The interest is a tremendous gift and I spend the vast majority of my time learning these days, all day long on most days. I can't get enough.
