have to agree with you here, but let me ask you a question anyway. I think its unfortunate that large gatherings just might not be able to happen for awhile. I also realize that we are under tremendous economic pressure. If it were up to me I would want the congress to borrow 10 TRILLION dollars with a 100 year repayment plan and commit to the rebuild and the protection of lives with a serious mitigation strategy instead of this hopeless hope fantasy I believe we are accepting here. But suppose you lived in Charlotte. Do you really want thousands of republicans, many of whom are not advocates for the type of mitigation needed, to pour into downtown for 5 days and leave the city with disease everywhere to spread like fire? Why would anyone who has to work downtown want to cope with that and then take it out into the suburbs and then into their home? We've seen enough of this horror show already.

Governor Cooper has been competent here. I have mixed feelings about my governor here in Virginia. We have been slower to open up than most places but I sure didn't like what I saw at the beaches last weekend (in pictures) The testing here has been terrible. But masks will now be mandatory in public indefinitely beginning Friday. Why that wasn't done earlier is frustrating. I think this thing is out of control. Already other states are jockeying to take the convention away. I am hoping North Carolina just says bye. It's not worth it. But the worst of it is of course Trump's threats. These threats have got to stop.

BOTH CONVENTIONS ARE A HEALTH RISK AND SHOULD PERHAPS JUST BE HELD ON-LINE WITH COMPUTER VOTING FOR THE CANDIDATES. LARGE GATHERINGS OF ANY KIND ARE NOT IN ANYONE'S INTEREST.
