WHICH PATH DID YOU CHOOSE IN LIFE??

A young man taking his first steps alone in life runs across a very noble looking Buddhist Monk sitting motionless atop a huge flat rock.

Before him lies two separate forked path beginnings that will determine what direction his journey throughout life goes in.

Seeking wisdom he says the following before having to choose his path of destination.

TO THE RIGHT OR TO THE LEFT?

BEYOND THE POINT OF MAKING ANY CORRECTIONS
WISE MAN ATOP THY STONE, PLEASE GIVE ME DIRECTION!

OH HOW TO CHOOSE SO TAXES MY YOUNG MIND !
IS RIGHT REALLY RIGHT OR LEFT SO WRONG ?

TO START OUT MY UNKNOWN JOURNEY OF LIFE
WILL I CHOOSE TOO SHORT OR PERHAPS TOO LONG ?

BOTH PATHS THUS MATCH SO EVENLY
WELL WORN FROM TRAVELERS BEFORE !

HAVE THEE OH SCHOLAR BEEN DOWN BOTH
ONLY TO SAFELY RETURN ONCE MORE ?

" WITH AGE COMES WISDOM MY DEAR YOUNG MAN "
AS THE WISEMAN FINALLY BROKE HIS VOW OF SILENCE

LIFTING AND POINTING HIS HANDS TO EACH
A SURE FIRE SIGN OF HIS OPEN DEFIANCE !

THIS CHOICE IS ONLY MINE TO MAKE
AS THE YOUNG MAN DEEPLY PONDERED

ALAS HIS MIND WAS FULLY MADE UP
HE WOULD NOT GO EITHER YONDER

INSTEAD HE SAT UPON THAT VERY ROCK
RIGHT BESIDE THAT WISE MAN SHOCKED!!

The above poem is my spin on that old saying about having two paths to choose from in our journey throughout life. For Wisdom can never really be taught to one! It is the product of the deep study of our choices few ever master!
Why take a single step forward into choosing uncertainty when the Wise Man Sat alone for all of those centuries simply seeking worthy companionship so he could share his vast endless knowledge!

Earlier in life, it is Education that furnishes us with growing levels of Wisdom.

Later on experience enhances it as we master our decision making abilities!

In learning we grow

In teaching we grow far more valuable.

Thus this SFF blog section certainly proves we are never too young to Learn!

In the midst of life is "if"..... and too many people waste time pondering that if.... especially in the past sense, as in "what if, I had done thus?"

Be a prism, spreading God's light and love, not a mirror reflecting the world's hatred.

Ifs are regretted decisions once made can carry life long effects..

Yes looking back once can have value regarding not making the same mistake twice.

Otherwise exactly like you say Mrs. Joe, It is the present we live in in order to sculpture our futures..

LOOK AHEAD AND NOT BACK....!!!!
