Although highly unlikely, Hitler also called himself a Christian.

"To compare any United States President to Adolf Hitler is absurd, preposterous".........She didn't actually say anything except that Hitler also called himself a Christian..........You sound like you think that being American automatically excludes a president from being compared to Hitler......

The situation with your president is that he is unique.....The US has never before elected a president who makes reality up as he goes along......Who lies spontaneously and has a White-House staff that backs up the lies and a news outlet that broadcasts his lies and backs him up........There has never before been a president so far removed from the factual world........and that looks like Christianity to the Evangelicals.........

The Evangelicals value Faith as the greatest virtue....And what is Faith, but blind loyalty to what one wishes to be true rather than what is true. Faith is abandoning factual analyses and critical thinking in exchange for belief in a manufactured reality.....a fantasy......where analogy is seen as proof.........Those Evangelicals love Trump's audacity in insisting on upholding his ignorance and lies, his manufactured reality as fact...............

Hi Lilium

What I know of history, is that in his youth Hitler was raised a Roman Catholic and even attended seminary at one point in hoping to become a priest. But later, he renounced Christianity and all other religions, calling them "opiates for the masses".

I also understand that Stalin also attended seminary as a youth, but it appears that he too rejected religion.

Just felt compelled to clarify that for the record.

GBU,

Gavin

We are all familiar with common history.......We also know that you agree with Bigblock's post.......Your vagueness and lack of specificity conveys a lack of courage in expressing your opinions.........Your whole ludicrous, vacuous exercise to "test" the hate-level on the blogs before you dared to stick even your toe in the water,is the act of a man who doesn't dare to express his own opinions......so either piss or get off the pot......saying "I agree" or "I disagree" has less substance than a soap bubble

Not having subscribed to the Christian mythology, I tend to think that the Trump phenomena is a shared psychosis........ a situation seen in cults.......The American culture of Celebrity.....especially influenced by "Reality TV" is probably a big factor in the psychosis......example, the attention payed to the vacuous Kardashian family.......The marriage of Celebrity, super-churches, TV Evangelists, .......the unquestioning pass that Americans give to Faith. and anything with Religious undertones and pride in ignorance.....are just a few of the obvious contributions to the Trump Psychosis

Christianity has also done the most harassing of any other religion....

Anyways, I fail to see what the deaths in Sri Lanka have to do with my theory of Group Psychosis among the Trump cultists.........Faith is not just a Christian phenomena, but the American Evangelicals are largely Trumpists and tend to allow the Faith-mode of perceiving to bleed into their quotidian.

The relevance of being both God like and Hitler like is not in the absolute.. It's a matter of factual perceptions

God like in the minds of his followers
and Hitler like.. in his own mind..
