Although highly unlikely, Hitler also called himself a Christian.

That seems to be the key that open's doors. HA! Isn't that ironic.

According to a book written by Richard Weikapt who is a professor of history at California State University, Stanislaus, and is a senior fellow for the Center for Science and Culture of the Discovery Institute.

In fact, Hitler contemptuously called Christianity a poison and a bacillus and openly mocked its teachings. In a long diatribe ridiculing many core Christian teachings, Hitler told his colleagues that the Christian concept of heaven was insipid and undesirable. After scoffing at doctrines such as the Fall, the Virgin Birth, and redemption through the death of Jesus, Hitler stated, “Christianity is the most insane thing that a human brain in its delusion has ever brought forth, a mockery of everything divine.”

In the end, the evidence is preponderant against Hitler embracing any form of Christianity for most of his adult life. Was Hitler a Christian? No.
Even though he tried to palm himself off as a Christian when it served his political purposes, none of his friends and comrades considered him one.

Now I really don't know of Hitler was or was not. I would imagine there is a lot of information if a person wants to find out.

That's what she said. Hitler probably wasn't a Christian but tried to pass himself off as one when it suited his purpose.

To compare any United States President to Adolf Hitler is absurd, preposterous or what ever adjective you would like to use. Hitler was a psychopath who was responsible for the death of 5.5 million Jews, as well as 19.3 million civilians and prisoners of war. I totally disagreed with those who compared Barack Obama to Hitler and I totally disagree with those who would compare Donald Trump to him.

I am curious how a self proclaimed Christian such as you can support a man like Trump. He is so obvious in his attempts to convince people like you he is a Christian . He has no idea of what’s in Bible nor even what Easter means .
Can you explain to me why you support him ?

"To compare any United States President to Adolf Hitler is absurd, preposterous".........She didn't actually say anything except that Hitler also called himself a Christian..........You sound like you think that being American automatically excludes a president from being compared to Hitler......

The situation with your president is that he is unique.....The US has never before elected a president who makes reality up as he goes along......Who lies spontaneously and has a White-House staff that backs up the lies and a news outlet that broadcasts his lies and backs him up........There has never before been a president so far removed from the factual world........and that looks like Christianity to the Evangelicals.........

The Evangelicals value Faith as the greatest virtue....And what is Faith, but blind loyalty to what one wishes to be true rather than what is true. Faith is abandoning factual analyses and critical thinking in exchange for belief in a manufactured reality.....a fantasy......where analogy is seen as proof.........Those Evangelicals love Trump's audacity in insisting on upholding his ignorance and lies, his manufactured reality as fact...............

Hi Lilium

What I know of history, is that in his youth Hitler was raised a Roman Catholic and even attended seminary at one point in hoping to become a priest. But later, he renounced Christianity and all other religions, calling them "opiates for the masses".

I also understand that Stalin also attended seminary as a youth, but it appears that he too rejected religion.

Just felt compelled to clarify that for the record.

GBU,

Gavin

We are all familiar with common history.......We also know that you agree with Bigblock's post.......Your vagueness and lack of specificity conveys a lack of courage in expressing your opinions.........Your whole ludicrous, vacuous exercise to "test" the hate-level on the blogs before you dared to stick even your toe in the water,is the act of a man who doesn't dare to express his own opinions......so either piss or get off the pot......saying "I agree" or "I disagree" has less substance than a soap bubble

In some christian teachings, the Antichrist is a personal opponent of Christ expected to appear before the end of the world. The antichrist has usually been perceived as someone living in their lifetime who will usher in the Apocalypse. There have been thousands of suspects among those are The Pope, Hitler, Henry Kissinger, Mikhail Gorbachev and Napoleon. Every American president since George Washington has likely been suspected of being the one to usher in the end times. Almost every president has landed on the Antichrist suspect list. FDR, JFK, Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, and Barack Obama have all been named . The one exception to the rule may be Gerald Ford. Appears to me that Mr Trump is not alone.

Not having subscribed to the Christian mythology, I tend to think that the Trump phenomena is a shared psychosis........ a situation seen in cults.......The American culture of Celebrity.....especially influenced by "Reality TV" is probably a big factor in the psychosis......example, the attention payed to the vacuous Kardashian family.......The marriage of Celebrity, super-churches, TV Evangelists, .......the unquestioning pass that Americans give to Faith. and anything with Religious undertones and pride in ignorance.....are just a few of the obvious contributions to the Trump Psychosis

When someone who's not been active in the blogs for a very long time pops up out of the blue, professing that they've anointed themselves a God-like, 'tester of hatred,' it comes off as being quite condescending...but that's just my opinion.

In other words...it's condescending AF.

Mythology, go try to peddle that nonsense to the survivors if the Sri Lanka bombings. Which targeted Christians and has claimed close to 300 lives. Why the bombings, just for the fact they were Christians. Christianity is the most harassed faith in the world, followed closely by Islam, according to the Pew Research Center. Go peddle your nonsense to someone who believes you, for I sure as he)) don't.

Christianity has also done the most harassing of any other religion....

Anyways, I fail to see what the deaths in Sri Lanka have to do with my theory of Group Psychosis among the Trump cultists.........Faith is not just a Christian phenomena, but the American Evangelicals are largely Trumpists and tend to allow the Faith-mode of perceiving to bleed into their quotidian.

The relevance of being both God like and Hitler like is not in the absolute.. It's a matter of factual perceptions

God like in the minds of his followers
and Hitler like.. in his own mind..
