I find it sad when a plea for help is interpreted as a 'power grab'. If only people would honestly examine their motivation in making the rejoinder 'White lives matter' many might realise that what they are saying is 'I have a privileged position and I feel threatened by anyone asking for equal treatment as that might adversely affect my own privilege'

I know very well that it is not easy my friend. I feel that things will change for us because there are a lot of folk who really saw the ugly side of systemic racism when George Floyd was murdered in front of all of us. IT SEEMS TO ME THAT ALL LIVES ARE IN DANGER AT THE PRESENT TIME NO MATTER WHAT THE COLOR. BUT THAT IS JUST MY HUMBLE OPINION. OF COURSE BLACK LIVES MATTER AS MUCH AS ANY OTHERS, COLOR IS JUST A WAY OF ADJUSTING TO CLIMATE AFTER ALL.

Hi Brightsmile...It seems that some people aren't going to get it, because they just don't want to.....It's like their hearts, minds and feelings live in different compartments and can't function simultaneously........Nothing anyone says will penetrate their wall of arrogant ignorance........ Anyways, always good to hear from you.....

Hello Sewg....When folk see character instead of color in all people things will be better for all. I must say that I think that will never happen in the USA. I can't speak for all black people.........I as a black person would like to see the systemic racism dismantled. I would like to see liberty and justice for all. I would like to see laws written that help all of the citizens of the country. As far as every caucasian person liking me I could care less.........There will always be someone who dislikes someone. Some folk disliked Christ. Creative Ideas.

Hello Maggie...........How did that work for you?.......smile. I try to stay away from that in chat. I thank you for speaking out and being kind but most of the folk here are old and set in their ways and you are not going to change them. I write blogs because someone once said they wondered why the black folk did not comment on some of the blogs that some folk here had written involving Black folk or what they knew about them. I decided to show my opinion as a black woman who knows the black situation in the USA because I live it everyday. Creative Ideas.

Hello Sparkleflit......I agree with you. you are right Some folk will not get it because they do not want to and some know that they have an advantage and realize that if that advantage is taken away and they are measured on ability and not privilege they will not be able to make the cut so they fight to keep that from happening........That is just my opinion. The denial is so insidious, profound and prevalent,......I have been in so many conversations where people congratulate themselves for not being racist and when I confess to coming across instances of racism within myself, they assure me that I'm not racist.......But that's not true.....there are layers upon layers of impacted, compacted attitudes.....White, European, Christian, Colonialist attitudes that need to be dug out and exposed.......We have a long way to go. Systemic racism is what we want to change in the USA. Black folk could not buy a house until the 1960's. Blacks could not marry whites until 1968. Now the system uses the laws on the books.....one way for whites and another way for blacks. I do not have enough time or space to really explain it. Liberty and justice for all is what black folk want in the USA. Creative Ideas.
